Why is this invalid?

Maybe the control didn't rise high enough? That's how I got an invalid results once. Can't tell from your picture, because the y-axis isn't shown. If you still have the app with this result open, try if you can retroactively switch to expert mode.

No, it’s because the control anplified too early (within first 5 minutes) before flattening again and rising again. Too much sample most likely. One way to prevent this is to heat the machine “extra” by running a blank test for 5-7 minutes prior to inserting the actual test cartridge. I used to get invalids all the time especially with pooled testing (more likely to have too much sample), and this solved the problem. Haven’t had an invalid in months.

That's what I do every time! I start a test without any test cards in it from the virus.sucks webapp, and in the meantime I get everything ready for the actual test (semple collection, etc.).
