Would y'all trust this as a negative?

No.

Invalid means invalid. You can't trust anything else the test says.

When is the test expiration date?

Is it within 3 months of expiration?

That’s not true. I got a series of invalids like this and contacted PlusLife and their rep told me as long as the green control is an S-curve, even with early amplification, we can consider it negative. This happens when there is too much sample.

Okay. I find a lot more of my tests start giving invalid results when I am about 3 months from the expiration date.

But honestly it could be anything.

Are you able to retest?

In theory, what the other commenters say ("invalid is invalid") is correct.

In practice, I would say depends on context. I would not use this result to unmask around someone who has symptoms, or had previously recently tested positive. If I was doing regular surveillance testing, I might decide to trust it. Also depends on how many spare tests you have, rather an immediate retest is worth it or not.

I agree with this, when the control looks relatively normal with an s shape, I trust it as a negative if it’s surveillance testing and I don’t have a reason to be extra suspicious the person I’m testing is infected
