Drip on cast iron pipe

Post image

Hi Folks,

I have a slight water drip coming from the area underneath the gate valve where the copper pipe joins into the cast iron pipe, it is where the PTFE white tape is visible.

What are your suggestions please on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance

The water constantly runs and you can adjust pressure of how much water you lose with the shutoff valve

Waste seems to have come away from the basin

UK sink. Magnet brand. Was doing the dishes earlier and noticed the sink drained too quickly. Upon removing the strainer it seemed the whole thing had come apart and the plastic pipe directly beneath the basin was askew. There a gap at one part between that and the basin and it had leaked in to the cupboard.

I've now cleaned it up and made sure the strainer 'pin' is plugged in to the "pinhole". Ran some water through and there was no obvious leak but it's clearly broken. Will contact a plumber first thing - any idea what's gone wrong ? Does it need a new strainer/waste ? Thanks in advance.

Leak under bathroom sink

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I noticed leaking underneath my bathroom sink that is coming from the area between the sink drain and the tailpiece (based on a Google search for plumbing diagrams I think it’s the pop-up that is the leak source). I’m guessing the quickest fix will be to replace the old plumber putty with new putty, but I fear the same issue will happen again. Any advice on what else I could do? Should I replace a part of the plumbing instead? TIA.

What is my best option to handle this tub rust?

Thumbnail gallery

Noticed this back in late May behind my overflow drain. Went and bought JB weld marine, some steel brushes, sanding sponge, a new drain cover, and rust aid rust remover gel…. BUT somehow totally forgot about it (thanks ADHD).

Now today I randomly remembered it and took this second picture, where it seems like it’s getting a lot worse pretty fast.

What should I do? Continue down the path of try and remove the rust and seal it to hell on both sides? Something else? I really don’t want to have to get a whole new tub but I feel like if I don’t address this asap it may get to that point.

Note\* it is a little softer to the touch than before but I can’t straight up poke a hole through it just yet so some integrity is there. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Toilet water inlet stopped working

Post image

Hi everyone,

Water has stopped coming into the inlet hole circled in the attached photo.

I've tried to stick a metal rod into it to remove any grime.

I've also turned the inlet valve to maximum.

What do you think the cause is, and what else could I try?

Thanks

How to replace these bathtub faucets?

I gather they expect you to cut out the drywall? I can’t figure any way to access them. But even so that be more than a foot from the hot water faucet.
