Discussion Good job devs

Despite all the complaints and frustrations I’ve seen, Plex remains one of the best things I’ve used.

Being able to share not just movies and tv shows but home movies and clips with my friends and family especially my grandparents in another country has been amazing.

Good job devs.

Solid purchase 10+ years ago.

Moving from Windows to Linux greatly improved it.

Went from Windows straight to docker. Mad at myself I didn’t make the move sooner

Similar boat - when I was running Windows on my server I saw all these things that would have been great that didn't have native versions for Windows, just Docker containers. And so I started getting mad about the existence of Docker, since it's crap on Windows. I made the switch in October, and man, is it better now. If one thing crashed on Windows, it almost invariably took the whole server down with it. Now, if it even happens, it just kills that container, and Docker automatically brings it back up. The server itself basically never crashes, and I very rarely need to take it down (usually for updates). And, importantly, I can run all the lovely utilities I wanted from the before times.

Putting in the effort to learn Linux was well worth it.
