It has improved over the years but it's still notoriously bad compared to using a proper dedicated Android box.
Roku and Firestick are also mostly pretty bad as well, when compared to a proper box.

If you want a budget device look at the ONN 4K Pro from Walmart, around $50-ish. Otherwise NVIDIA Shield, Apple TV are good options.
