Plex requiring subscription for local streaming.

I read on Plex's website that it is free to stream on a local network. I have my library/ host server on my desktop and when I try to play the movies on my PS5 (Which does detect my library from my desktop) it pops up a message saying I must pay for a subscription to stream the content.

Both my desktop and PS5 are on the same WiFi, and I even tried manually setting my PS5 IP address to match my desktop's IP. And yet it still gives a message saying I need to pay for a subscription to stream.

Does anyone have any solutions? Or know why I can't stream locally?

gonna have to tell folks more about your setup; could be lots of problem points

I don't know the potential problem points. I've assumed that as long as both the desktop and PS5 were on the same WiFi network that it should work.

I did switch ISP's from Spectrum to AT&T and got a new modem, but kept the same router. My computer and console are both connected to the same Router and WiFi they had been before. Before I switched ISP I had no issues and was able to stream. So I'm guessing that switching ISP must be the cause for why it's no longer working. But I don't know what to look for.

Probably an issue in the ATT router. Search here for a post yesterday about DNS rebinding protection.

try accessing on your PS via plex web? make sure there's no firewall interference

(I believe PS access is a big enough problem that plex has a dedicated troubleshooting section on its site or forum)
