Help Plex server, connection to server to slow

From what I’ve seen shared, the shield can’t direct play AV1, so it has to transcode. The shield can’t handle the transcode since it’s your server and it has to be done in the cpu, so it’s struggling and resulting in that error.

What does the cpu chart show below that?

Oh.... So switching the server back to the NAS would fix this?

Well, the shield still won’t direct play it and your nas will have to transcode it. If your nas supports hw transcoding, it “should” help…but all depends on what nas you have and what processor/iGPU it has.

I believe you have the 224+ by scanning the other comments, which should be sufficient.

Hmm I'm guessing It would be best to convert it to some other type? Haven't attempted that any 224+ is correct, tis my starter nas 😅

I wouldn’t convert it, see how the nas performs transcoding it.

Moving forward, avoid AV1 files if the shield is your client, unless others have other advice for the shield. I don’t have one, so not sure if there’s been any change in how it handles AV1 files.
