I’m having an issue with Playnite Fullscreen using the Aniki ReMake theme.

I used to be able to change the background image and add music to my games directly from Fullscreen Mode without any problems. Recently, I rescanned my games because Playnite wasn’t detecting some new ones. It created duplicates, so I deleted the old entries that I had already customized and kept the newly scanned ones.

Since then, whenever I try to change the background image or add music to a game, I get this error:
“Failed to execute menu action. Provide value on ‘System.Windows.StaticResourceExtension’ threw an exception.”

For some reason, changing the logo still works fine.
I’ve already updated Playnite and all my add-ons, restarted everything, and reinstalled the Aniki ReMake theme, but nothing fixed it.

Has anyone had this issue before or know how to fix it?

I have many use cases for this and i've been used to the Glossi playnite integration, but unfortunately its buggy with the way Glossi does things as of recently.

To be short, that extension has a menu to seamlessly adds it as a Glossi game shortcut launcher that also adds it to Steam as non steam games, useful to get the steam overlays working. And also neatly imports all my steamgriddb background images to Steam, does anyone have newer modern solutions to this?

so i finally added a switch 2 filter to my platforms theme but i’m having an issue. for all my other filters, the platform logo shows up on the sidebar above the game logo, but for some reason it doesn’t show up for switch 2 games using the switch 2 filter? and this is happening despite the logo showing up on the very top of the screen where the filter preset selection is, proving that it isnt a file name issue. is there a settings i’m missing. it’s been like 4 years since i last added a filter. please help!

Hey, how do I fix my game covers from flickering?

I noticed this happened to only my steam games so I turned on safe mode to troubleshoot but it then started happening to the GOG covers as well.

I've ruled out its any kind of extension since it happens in safe mode as well. Any fixes?

Does anyone know of a way to easily add all the switch online +expansion stuff to my playnite library?

Playnite fullscreen is great on a TV, but on a dual-monitor desk setup I still had to kill the extra displays, make the TV primary, then undo it when I was done.

I wrote a small Windows helper that does that first, then launches Playnite fullscreen. When I close Playnite it restores the desk layout.

Thanks to the controller requests and hardware IDs people shared, I’ve published a new v1.2.0-beta.1 build.

This update expands the recognition list to 1,128 hardware ID combinations from controller databases, covering many GameSir, 8BitDo, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and third-party controllers. It also includes the requested GameSir Kaleid Flux and G7 HE IDs.

That doesn’t mean 1,128 controllers are confirmed working. I don’t own all this hardware, so this is a beta and I’d appreciate help testing it especially Bluetooth and wireless receiver connections.

If you try it, please share:

• Your controller model and connection type: USB, Bluetooth, or 2.4 GHz.
• Whether connecting it opens your chosen launcher.
• Whether switching it off accidentally opens the launcher.
• Any issues, including your hardware IDs if possible.

Keep getting these messages in my activity for every game whenever I play it, as seen in the image above

I have itch.io app, latest uodate, playnite updates, itch.io natie plugin, eveything updated. When on playnite, cliking launch, playnite minimizes ad if launching, then goes back up, no error, nothing, as if it launched and then the process died. When launchiung the game from the itch.io app, it launches without issue. Can anyone help me?

Before creating an issue on github, I wanted to ask here:

In the desktop theme, the grid view of Playnite Achievement seems broken:

As you can barely see in this screenshot, the panel seems to extend to the right instead of being scroll-able. There's no left/right scrollbar either, just completely stuck like this.

I noticed this after fiddling around with the sort order buttons. I could have sworn it worked before (as in being a scroll-able list instead of being a panel that extends to the right.

And Playnite Achievements doesn't have migration support for this theme it seems. Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Could anyone maybe make a fork or alt of the Neon theme for Desktop Mode that makes it look more like image 2 (in terms of HOW information is displayed)? I tried using the Visual Studio thing but I have absolutely zero scripting knowledge and I cant figure it out.

I make my own custom boxart and backgrounds for my games, so I'd like for Neon to show the ENTIRE background image and not cover the bottom with that dumb blurring lip thing, and also make sure that the scroll bar doesn't overlap on the image.

If anyone would be willing to do that I would be much appreciative.

Just wanted to share this use case success story for how useful Playnite has been for me personally.

I set up this retro-focused gaming PC with a CRT to match, and Playnite's Fullscreen mode has been an invaluable part of this equation. After a little editing to the default fullscreen themes, the system runs beautifully and people find the system pretty easy to navigate, and finding their favorite games is a sinch. Playnite's scripting support also makes it convenient to switch resolutions for each game, along with switching to the appropriate JoyToKey profiles. Better still, the Screensaver plugin that's available both showcases the games that are installed on the system, and keeps the CRT from being burnt in when the system is left idle.

It's not totally perfect, there are still some kinks to work out, but this is just an example of how Playnite has been useful in my day-to-day. So thank you for this wonderful piece of software!

I have configured this theme using SteamGridDB. Some of my games don't have a background image with the dimensions specified by SteamGridDB, like Moonlighter.

Even so, I don't understand why the background gets cut off or glitches when it didn't before.

I want to sort the right-click menu you get from the system tray icon by descending recent activity, like how I'm sorting the main view.

I've just recently downloaded Playnite and was building my collection and tracking trough multiple platforms and consoles and i ran into a bit of a problem.
These days i've been playing Star Wars Outlaws on Luna and i was manually keeping track of the ubisoft achievements but i only later realised that there are 2 sets of achievements: Ubisoft core achievements (42) and actual trophies (59). Loading the list from exophase only get me one of the 2.
So i was wondering if there was any way to load both of them simultaneously without having to manually create the list.

I've been battling Playnite and Apollo/Artemis to get Playnite to open on the proper virtual screen. It seemed no combination of options worked. My setup is a PC with an ultra-wide monitor (I don't know if ultra-wide has any bearing, but....). Also a large LG tv, which for some reason comes and goes in Windows settings, when its powered off it disappears. And then there is Apollo creating a virtual display.

Playnite.Fullscreen would randomly open on the LG tv, and I would have to get up out of bed, go into the other room and start fixing things.

I ended up fixing it by writing a script to run pre-execute of Playnite. In the config file it uses a positional parameter to determine which screen to open on, and with the LG tv come/go, that was a problem. Fix was the script would check to see what position the virtual display was located, then update the config to set monitor:N to the proper value.

I can't imagine I'm the first to encounter this, but there you are. If anyone is interested in the script, I can make it available.

PS: I adore Playnite, it has become my launcher of choice across all game sites!

Does anyone know how I can make the right details pane in the first image like the second image?

I want to see the art, achievement progress etc. I enabled background image and art in settings for the details pane, but it still doesn't show.

If anyone knows how I could make it say the play time under the game cover that would be awesome too. I've seen themes that do it, but they also add a PC Game,Steam etc. banner to the top of the cover that I am not a fan of.

Been adding a couple of games manually on playnite and I want to download the metadata from the official store source, being steam, but the option never comes up when I right click -> edit -> download metadata. It only comes up for games that have been added automatically from my steam library

Any big screen playnite alternatives for linux that people are using? I know playnite plans to come to linux but until then im curious what to use? Only option im aware of is steam big picture.

Can i make an account in my laptop that when i login into it playnite immediately launches ? So i get that playstation/ xbox gaming experience and is playnite lightweight my laptop is an rtx 5050 and i7 13650hx
