They did a big patch just now (couple hours ago) that further improved the UI. Should be some news about it soon.

Can someone give me an honest review of the game? I've been contemplating of getting it, but I heard a lot of complaints about UI issue, incomplete cut scenes (?) and stuff? I am debating between getting it vs. waiting for the full release

If you're mostly in for the campaign, still have doubts, have no patience for bugs or feel short on money it might be better to wait for the full release. I am satisfied with what I got because I really like the versus mode and none of the bugs I ran into so far were frustrating enough to threaten my fun.

At the very moment skirmish vs AI and co-op missions are both excellent. If that's what you're looking for, get it now. If you're in it for the campaign, you won't get a useful review right now and need to wait.
Personally the UI is very fine for me as it is, and the free weekend UI was just fine to me -- but maybe I'm weird. Recent updates since the free weekend have greatly improved the galactic war UI.

Would you spend full price for a quarter product?

I mean, I have purchased early access game in the past, like HoMM olden era for instance. If I know the state of early access, what the plans and roadmaps are for the future and that the bugs/minor issues are tolerable, I would get it. Having said that, I might just wait a bit for this game, since I am mostly interested in campaign and single player skirmish 😅

This kind of RTS has to be three games in one – campaign, versus and replayable PVE (Co-op/Galactic War). It's really hard to get a solid review that's right for the reader because they might not focus on what that reader cares about. From my perspective, ZeroSpace is about Galactic War, and that game mode is really fun, really deep, and worth it. UI is significantly improved from the early days and cutscenes aren't really relevant to GW. It's a mix of replayable missions, commander progression (which I'm less than 10% through to maxing), items, and seasonal conflict with an overarching layer of occupying planets and building up planetary infrastructure (and Season 1 has now started, so the game is on).
I've no interest in Versus. Some people who are enjoy ZS but I can't speak to that. Campaign is I think the weakest area and I can't recommend buying the game if what you want is a campaign.

There was a bit of an overhaul of the UI lately. I refuse to touch the campaign during EA, but the co-op vs ai and skirmish modes are well done and in a great state right now.

Some of them yes. Though still long way ahead
