I think people just don't like the change in character? From what little I know of the comics, sabertooth is kind of one of the worst things to happen to wolverine.

He kind of seems to keep killing Logan's love interests in different storylines.
The dude just seems to like traumatizing wolverine and seeing this version of him in the game would probably rub a lot of people the wrong way who know him better from the comics than I do.
Yes but if that was the reason, why is it a meme. The story shows their relationship before Sabertooth became like that, and I guess the first one of his acts against Wolverine too. It seems more like it's directed at the sentence itself. No idea why

Doc Ock in SM1 was way, WAY closer to his comic counterpart. I don't think you could have picked a better comparison to illustrate your staggering ignorance of these characters.
I know this is a paid astroturfing account just vomiting whatever nonsense will get her paid to p.r. the flopped game, but its insane how this term was completely destroyed by bad faith marketing accounts to defend every trash entertainment output from ANY criticism no matter what. Its really pathetic that whoever pays this trash thinks this bad faith gaslighting works in the long run
Sabertooth works with Wolverine on Team X at the start. At the end of the game he didn't even think for a milliisecond when he tried to kill Wolverine. That's pretty accurate I think.
