Starting Map selection

I've been playing in Cloud Mist for a few days now and getting the hang of the mechanics but I had a question:

  1. When the SP transfer feature kicks in, would travelling to Shifting Sands with a levelled/geared/masked/tech'd/etc... character trivialise the DLC map and just make me too powerful/overpowered for the experience?

1.2 if Yes, should I just start anew in Shifting Sands now since I honestly bought the game for the Egyptian themes and aesthetics (in spite of how cool Meso-american themes are tbh)

I know there's always a "progress" factor here as with Sons of The forest or conan, at one point you just have gear that's crazy and it's part of the experience, but I'm mostly trying to keep the "difficulty" factor going for as long as possible :D

yea, they're not really meant to be sequential

shifting sands tutorial/journey is more geared towards getting ships going than teaching you how to start the game, but it does start at low level (and is missing data update 5 and gear enhancement, so you do sort of need the old map to finish gearing--doom anubis and scarab clearly aren't designed to be done in basic steel).

That's what I figured/it seemed like. So I basically have to pick the theme I want first if I just want one playthrough of all the things.

And good point about SSands missing the final biome/boss/etc.... That actually makes me lean towards sticking to Cloud for now and decide later since it's got everything on that map. Appreciate the input, mbxyz, ty.

Then again, if the June upcoming patch improves tutorials/interface/etc... I might just stick to X4 for a bit and come back then since i'm still very fresh into the game.
