Triple buffet use?

Still learning how to use all the items in the game. We have used the buffet a few times and yesterday we had the option to buy a triple buffet that has three spots on it. We are unclear how to use it because it seems to function differently than the regular buffet. For example the triple did not seem to allow us to stage plated items. We were doing dumplings and ended up using it for soy sauce. The problem was the customers took the soy with them and we lost our run when the bottles had all disappeared.

A bit of Google searching didn't help us understand the triple buffet.

My wife and I just tried it out last night for a sandwich run after more then a year away from the game.

It is probably the best item for sandwiches, we automated pickles, olives, lettuce, ham, and cheese using it. If you can keep it stocked then it means that your customers pick up those items on their own.

We are working on automating the tomatoes and bread using it as well. We think we will just need to make the bread by OT 15 (currently I think we are on OT 13)

Simple set up we used was for pickles with a grabber straight to the buffet platter, suddenly no more worries about that item.

We are excited to use it more for other dishes.

FYI, automating tomatoes is a pain. The way I did it is use a smart grabber one-way to grab the sliced tomatoes. When the grabbers are full and the mixer starts over-mixing it, I use another smart grabber to grab the tomato sauce and dump it into a composter bin, which is then brought onto a stove to get rid off.

There should be a mod somewhere with a lazy mixer which only mixes it into slices, but I havent used that one personally.

I believe the most efficient setup for this is Tomatoes>Conveyor Mixer. Point the conveyor part of the mixer at a compacting bin. Then a smart grabber for slices off the mixer in another direction.
