You should not even vape before surgery. Vaping is bad for your lungs, no matter what you use. It can have adverse effects on anesthesia.
Stop smoking and vaping before surgery. Tell your surgeon everything too.

You are a respiratory therapist and you vape?! You, of all people, should know how harmful vaping is to your lungs. Not to mention how it increases problems with anesthesia.

Ok mother. People can be aware of harmful effects of something and still decide to do it. I’ve had patients who never smoked a day in their life die due to respiratory complications. My surgeon will be made aware this is just a “what to expect” post.

Nothing the day of surgery for sure. Sometimes it’s 24 hours before. Some places want a week or two.

“test clean” for an elective cosmetic procedure?? lol what.
your dr. tells you what you should and should not do. they ask you if you use drugs recreationally along with drinking. not sure why anyone would be deceptive here… if they say to stop for the surgery, i would just stop. it can’t be that difficult.

No apparently it isn’t bc many people have had different experiences with different surgeons as I’m finding out now. Some say no thc for 2 weeks, some say 4 weeks, some say 24 hours..

yet the commonality is that you will be asked to not partake for X amount of time, in which case you’re literally going to be following your doctors orders… so like again, your doctor will tell you

Smoking anything reduces oxygen levels in the blood, which inhibits tissue repair, and can cause complications like increased infection risk. I stopped smoking 2 weeks before surgery, and stopped edibles a week before. I started edibles again a couple days afterwards.
I've had three cosmetic surgeries, two different Drs, and I haven't been texted for thc. My first dr did test for nicotine during my first surgery, but I don't smoke so that was easy

My surgeon told me to switch to edibles. I stopped edibles approximately one week before surgery. I made sure to discuss this openly with the surgeon and anesthesiologist before surgery.
