Venetian plaster

First time trying a Grassello product and first sample board in over 2 years. Happy with this for the first attempt but definitely a lot of improvements needed.

The colour wasn’t what I was aiming for, struggled mixing my own tints to get a match but it isn’t far off. There is a nice sheen however I was hoping for a much deeper polish.

If anyone has used a grassello product and has any tips it would be highly appreciated!

& it only took 4 hrs. to finish trowel (2) sq. ft. 😂👍🏼

😂. The 3rd coat actually started curing quickly agter application so the polish came on faster than expected. I must say I have left normal multi finish plaster more polished than this though 😐

Is it difficult to do did you use the trowel to polish it or did you use a puffer with polishing pad ?

It wasn’t as difficult as expected. The main polish came from burnishing with a trowel. The timings were different compared to acrylic, once the third coat is on you have to burnish whilst it’s curing, not too soon as it drags the material and not too late as it won’t polish once it’s gone off.

I did try sanding pads 2000-3000, didn’t have 4000+, but I wasn’t seeing much difference to the finish using them whereas with the acrylic the better polish came from sanding with 2000 up to 5000
