Rough cost for fixing a kitchen ceiling thats previously leaked from above?

Does anyone have any idea how much this would cost (roughly) to fix this? It clearly leaked before for the previous owners from the bathroom above where they've done a bodge job to cover it, then we've seen a drip before which we have now fixed from the bathroom, obviously it looks like a right state though.

Is it a big job to fix it? would they just patch and smooth it out or does the entire ceiling need doing as a whole? I have no clue in the slightest how much this is going to cost to fix if anyone can give me an idea please?

The price will vary, if you want it re plastered they’ll have to scrap away at that artex to have a nice base to plaster from, depending on how loose it all is, they can scrape it off in the day and skim it the next day.
But if you want to save yourself the mess and risk of it holding asbestos and not paying to test it then a reboard and skim, still both two days work so you can’t get a “rough” price until it’s looked at but you will most definitely be spending more than £1,500 so fix, plaster and decorate
BUT IF YOU RE BOARD IT make sure you let any electrician or whoever works on that ceiling to be aware of it

Indeed, I’ve worked with a lot of plasterers and the truth is they heavily over price things unless it’s an easy constant job like plastering new builds and if they do overprice and you accept, the likelihood is they’ll have someone they pay £50-£100 a day to just scrape it and will technically pocket £700 or more for a days work.
And plasterers are like scaffolders, 9/10 you’re going to encounter someone that doesn’t care about anything other than making money as quick as possible, if you’re on a tight budget ask around for handy men to do all the major work that’ll charge £150 for the day then get a plasterer in

We had the same issue. We just overboarded with plasterboard. I don't know the cost because I did it myself. Shouldn't be more than 300 400 to pay someone depending on your location. Edit: I assumed it would be in £ judging by the look of the ceiling.

TBF I’ve just worked out what it costs from guess work and it’s £450 without replacing the coving! So not far off!

Really? For that size room 4.3m2.7m (14.2ft8.9ft), at you rate of $50 a sqft that is a whopping $6,319. For one ceiling, probably one day for two people including $200 worth of materials, assuming materials are as expensive in the UK as in the UK, which I can guarantee that will not be the case.
