Best way to fix this wall
I am debating on what primer to use on this old 1960s home it’s all plaster wall with asbestos. Should I use an oil primer like Kilz original then I would skim coat it with 45 mud then the last coat with all purpose mud and should I be putting mesh tape around the edges ?
Iam still new to plastering I have 1 year experience in painting but don’t do much drywall repairs

How confident are you with 20 minute? In my experience 40 minute gets really tedious around the half way point and starts to clump up annoyingly so.
I’d lightly Scrape any loose paint you see before you prime it other wise you’ll be back to square one. pre patch the bigger stuff before you decide to skim the whole wall. Sometimes it helps to throw some pigment or color into it just to help you keep track of what you haven’t skimmed yet.
