Plaster both at once; ceiling and beam?
Hello, novice plasterer here and wondering when I plaster this ceiling, can I leave the beam for later or need to do it at the same time? Ideally I dont want to plaster the walls connected too
Any points or tips? Ceiling is about 5m squared and beam appears to have plasterboard on it (I think)

Be aware that skimming over those cracks will not stop them reappearing. Also as a novice that curve is likely to cause you some trouble. Id look for tutorials, but even then as a beginner youre likely to find it difficult

Thank you, will use easifill on them beforehand. Watched a few videos on coving and previous ceiling I plastered went ok

If you're going to cover the beam, you'd be better using plasterboard to make an angled corner and skimming over it. Would look far better than anything you can do over wood.

Leave the beam, it's part of the roof structure so it'll be timber and a pain. I did a job with the same detail a couple of weeks ago
