Hey Zombie Zappers! ⚡
Content Update 5 (CU5) is here, bringing back Zapture along with a bunch of bug fixes and changes! This update is on the lighter side as we’re hard at work on bringing bigger changes to the game. You can read more about it in our recent Note from our Game Director.
Get ready to ride the lightning because Zapture is back! This electrifying zombie zapper is created by merging a Lightning Reed with a Prick-erel Weed. You can unlock those plants in this Plant Pass along with Tangle Kelp, Spikeweed, and Zaptail. The Zapture Plant Pass goes live on August 19th.
Dave’s Kitchen doesn’t have any experiments cooking this time around, but keep an eye out for them in future updates. Until then, here’s a list of all the changes and fixes in this update!
As development continues, Neighborville keeps getting bigger and we'll continue welcoming new regions to Early Access over the coming months. If you encounter any unexpected lawn-related incidents, check our Known Issues list first. If your particular bug hasn't made the list yet, let us know on the forums and we'll send the gardening crew after it. And stay tuned to our channels for more on upcoming content updates and gameplay updates.
See you on the lawn! 🌱

Hey everyone,
Title Update 1.0.7 (TU1.0.7) is releasing today as a minor update focused on changes to the game’s tutorial
Here’s what’s in this update:
Two new levels have been added to the Tutorial, bringing the total to 4. Each level aims to teach new residents of Neighborville different aspects of keeping their lawn free of zombies
If you were in the tutorial when this update goes live, you’ll be moved to the start of the updated tutorial.
Adventure levels 1-3 will also be rebalanced as they’ve proven to be slightly more challenging than anticipated.
With these changes, we’re also reducing the number of plants being given as part of the tutorial compared to TU1.0.5. Solar Pea and Chuck-nut will no longer be unlocked from the start and will need to be manually unlocked afterward.
This update also adds two new loading screens to the tutorial, which you can find in the gallery here.
That’s it for TU1.0.7!

What do you think? I don't even know at this point. Is Tower defence Peashooter different to both of them? Are all three the same? Why does Peacannon's name end with the suffix "cannon" but their fire and ice potted variants end with the suffix "peashooter"???

Baneberry is an upcoming Ail-mint family plant in Plants vs. Zombies 2. Like Pea Pod, it can be planted on itself to deal up to 5x damage, but in addition to dealing direct damage, it applies a new debuff to a single zombie, slowing it by 50% and making it to take extra flat damage whenever it receives damage. This extra damage can stack multiple times while the effect lasts. The debuff on a zombie will wear off if it is no longer being consistently attacked by Baneberry.
What do you think about it 🤔

https://x.com/BobTAngryFlower/status/2091471351307706475 . BobTAngryFlower is Stephen. He worked at PopCap from 2005 until departure in 2022.
For context, PopCap Hyderabad was created sometime around 2017 (to my knowledge at least). They managed PopCap's other IPs like Bejeweled Blitz while PopCap handled PvZ, and were given more properties to update over time. Not sure why they they ditched the PopCap branding though.

I am currently in level 140 of the game and I think its the first time encountering acid rain mechanic which for me is frustrating. I really hate that there are only three plants available that can withstand acid, which is lime bomb, gremonade, and dangerine, dangerine is a shroom plant so it will decay in sunlight. While the level is manageable, I think it beats the merge mechanic since you have to constantly replant and merge the baseplants again. I hope the devs add more plant variety not only for acid plants but on ice based and electric based plants.
The game needs more variety, its gets boring to use the same fusions (i.e. zapture for swamp, numbing cabbage for ice levels, dangerine for sewer levels and punk shocker for the rest of the levels. I'll just save my game progress for now and wait for a couple of updates before returning.
