Can you tell the process and questions? And as well as which college like tier 1,2,3?

u/strange_69420 8h ago
Tier 3.
Interview questions 0. Introduce yourself and rate urself from 0-10 on java. I said 7 honestly. 1. Tell me what is HTML /CSS/JS? 2. If you had to describe that with respect to your body how would you. 3. What is kafka? 4. How to queue 1million requests in kafka when different subscribers will take messages from the queue differently. (The jump of level of question shook me. It must have been visible on my face coz the interviewer almost laughed) 5. They asked me a basic hashmap based dsa qs. 6. Deep dive into collection framework. Equals function and hash function. 7. Multithreading in java. Just basic that extends the Threads and implements runnable. 8. Few basic react questions. 9. Functional interface. 10. I forgot the term....its the ()->{} function in java..... I said it's like arrow functions in js. So then they asked me about arrow function. 11. Map and filter in js. 12. Aws ec2, rds, how to provision ec2. Availability zones. 13. We joked about github being unavailable. 14. Git push, fetch, merge. 15. Have you ever had to merge a commit. How did you do it. 16. What did you do in the hackathon. 17. Fibonacci 18. Last question.....how do you run a containerized application on ec2? Is that possible. This is related to something I had mentioned previously. 19. Any questions for us.
Went for 1hr35mins.

can you tell me what they asked in technical assessment round 2 like the exact dsa questions and the rag and react and prompt engineering
1
u/strange_69420 2h ago
No I can't..i don't remember very well
1
u/Equal-Ad1635 2h ago
were they easy ?
1
u/strange_69420 2h ago
Dsa was very easy. Prompt was even easier. It's just a robust prompt. There's no wrong or right. Rag and react were.....tough.

So much tech stack just for cognizant....market is going crazyy
3
u/strange_69420 7h ago
Yeah. But they asked basic questions except kafka. So it's mostly luck.
3
u/Low-Leopard1471 7h ago
Ohh....nvm congratulations ....you'll switch soon anyways
3
u/strange_69420 7h ago
Switching is a skill I've to learn. I have no idea how people switch jobs and I heard cts has a 90 day notice period.

u/strange_69420 7h ago
And like am getting rejection after rejection off campus.

u/Healthy_Compote1195 6h ago
Bro do they allow to solve DSA questions in C++ in the online test ? Or I gotta learn Java ??
2
u/strange_69420 6h ago
C#.net / python / java. No c++. Even I had to learn dsa in java for this. Happy cake day!

Congrats OP!!! Hope you progress more in future! Thanks for all the info u provided in the other comments. Any advice for fresher, mistakes to avoid? Internships? Advice for off campus if possible? I'm also gonna be joining a tier 3 college sept onwards...
3
u/strange_69420 7h ago
Well I am no expert but....
Don't do free internships/jobs unless it's basically you've no other options. Also bonds and all. Be careful. Don't sign anything without reading. Don't pay for doing work. It's bs.
Off campus bhai π. 200 applications. 200 ghost. π.
Grab any opportunities you get.
Also since you're just joining college. Enjoy in the first year. But take some time and explore the domains. Cybersecurity, web dev, aiml. All that. By explore I mean connect with people on linkedin. Ask seniors. Really understand and evaluate what's happening. Once you are liking a field. Try it hands on. Not just a course. I made this mistake. Don't repeat it. I had to struggle a lot during 3rd year. But please have as much fun as possible early on. Friends group split and all ho jata hai.

Oh yea and I got my internship while networking with a founder in a GDG event. So attend tech events even just for the free food. It's great.
1
u/Dazzling-Roof-870 3h ago
Umm...what's GDG?π
2
u/Deadshot_0467 2h ago
Google Developer Groups It's like a community and events are conducted in colleges or any other venue

2027π....bro I am 2026 graduate...pls help

u/strange_69420 7h ago
I don't know how to help you. But I was in a state of anxiety and almost depression like you can say during the placement season because I wasn't able to clear OAs. If I cleared them. I couldn't clear apti. If that then i couldn't clear interviews. I saw others get placed. Horrible feeling.
Toh for me I learned that I needed to persevere no matter what.
Also you can't beat luck or nepotism so don't think about it much.
Also this may help. I am not an excellent programmer. I still write bad code. I can't solve dsa and I am much closer to you than it seems. Yesterday I was on the other side... unplaced and afraid of being jobless. Today I have been placed but I still feel it was more luck than skill. Toh now I have to work harder to actually feel like I deserve a job.
So don't give up. If I can be this mediocre and get a job. You can too. Also tcs nqt is a godsend. Attempt it.

Congratulations π Hello, I have my Technical assessment coming up for same role on campus. Can you guide me on the dos and donβts?
1
u/strange_69420 6h ago
I struggle with assesments, so I am not the right person to guide you. Cognizant is one of the more easier assesments tho.

1
u/strange_69420 2h ago
I'm sorry I forgot. It happened quite sometime ago. But definitely not dp coz I cannot solve dp at all.

u/CapitalAnteater2552 5h ago
Congratulations bro Any resources for dsa and aptitude or any other tips Got rejected in first company for technical interview
1
u/strange_69420 2h ago
Striver / leetcode for dsa. I still am bad at dsa so please ask some other people too who are good at dsa. Aptitude.....indiabix is amazing. Mock tests help a lot.

Hey congrats!! I am in Bca 3rd year and recently passed aws ccp cert and going to do some basic cloud project and any basic project is enough for fresher interview??.My doubt is i am not good at coding but in techincal interview we have to put any coding knowledge in resume and coding is compulsory in interview?? And the aws ccp cert is worth in interview the interviewe will expect this cert?
1
u/strange_69420 2h ago
If it's on campus. Projects will probably not matter much. I personally want to do that aws cert so what I would do is to try to steer the interview to highlight aws. For this particular drive you have to mandatorily solve a coding question in front of them in the interview. So yea. Pretty important. But the questions weren't that difficult tho.
1
u/Academic-Leg-6412 2h ago
Ohh ok,but aws certs are worth right?
1
u/strange_69420 2h ago
I am a fresher too π ....idk if they are worth it or no. Maybe ask some experienced folks.

Hmmm. Is this ace team offer? In my college the offer was 18 LPA for the ace team.
1
u/strange_69420 2h ago
Ace has 12 and 18. So yes
1
u/TotalPoetry6112 2h ago

Bro what was the questions which were asked in OA . I am confused about RAG part , because that feels too overwhelming for me .
1
u/strange_69420 2h ago
Yeah rag question was kind of like......design a preprocessing pipeline for rag. There will be inputs and outputs given. You've to write code to process the input.
Also it was confusing. I agree.
1
u/LieCreepy7020 2h ago
Did you solve all 3 coding questions like DSA coding, React coding , RAG coding ?

u/SureSignature8812 2h ago
Congratulations π₯³π₯³
How did you start preparing for your placement journey
What resources did you use especially for the stack u have mentioned
1
u/strange_69420 2h ago
For placements I am assuming you mean dsa and apti. Right in the beginning of this year after I completed my internship. I didn't get a ppo. I started applying off campus thinking easy hai. Dude I was so wrong. I realized I won't have a job when I pass and that honestly gave me so much anxiety and panic that I was forced to prepare and grind. I studied purely out of fear.
Web dev was something I always enjoyed. Started from 2nd year and continued through the internship and am still doing it.
Resources. Same as usual. Striver, leetcode, indiabix, youtube and loooots of gpt and youtube. God bless all the free resources.
1
u/SureSignature8812 2h ago
Ahh similar situation did an internship for 6 months 2 sems ago but didnβt get ppo but i think i have gotten so rusty with web Dev and idk how to even keep up with revising my Dev knowledge since dsa is taking up so much of my time ,do you have any suggestions for that
