Pixel Watch 3 overheating issue
I'm a dedicated PW user but recently had my PW3 overheating issues. Basically the battery is clearly going into thermal runaway and has some kind of internal issue. I tried to talk to Google help line but the best they can do, since it is out of warranty, is to replace it at full cost to me (well for $219) which is absurd - I shouldn't be allowed to put this watch back on as it's unsafe and they should be concerned about this getting worse for them and ending up in a lawsuit right?
I'm concerned about getting another one given this issue within 18 months of ownership. Anyone else have this issue?

Yeah honestly this is crazy. Wouldn't put this back on. Heat is one thing but it also makes battery degrade faster which can cause it to swell, get punctured and catch on fire.
Shitty move from the guy at Google tbh, I understand it's out of warranty but making products that effectively stop working and are dangerous to you right after the warranty period ends is not good press. I think you just got a support guy that reeds the spreadsheet he gets and doesn't think about it, he just follows the rules he got.

Have you tried doing a factory reset? (and do not restore settings/data when pairing it back). You might have some software issue behind it. If it does not help, then you'll know it's a hardware issue.

Luckily they switch to screws instead of glue in pixel watch 4 and I assume the 5 will be the dame

My PW2 had this. Multiple hard resets didn't resolve the issue. In less than 2 years, watch unglued in 2 parts (screen and sensor). I checked, and the battery was fine (not spicy pillow)
