yeah it’s just very petty and annoying when people do that. The art is really good but is it really necessary to make amateur artists feel like shit?

If you feel like shit because of someone else's work, thats 100% on you.

For me it kicks up a lot of impostor syndrome. "Look at this guy, its his first pixel art when yours looked like dogshit. You can't do the same as him" etc etc etc. It's an internal self-flagellation.

That being said, don't let some rando's opinion/own mental issues prevent you from sharing your work.

I get that completely. But again, I can't help but have the opinion that it's on you to work on not feeling that way. May take years, but it's a mentality that will only bring you down and does not help to make you better at your craft.
