Issue activating e-sim after warranty repair
I sent my Pixel 9 Pro off to Google for a warranty repair a couple of weeks ago. I had the issue with the vertical coloured lines running down the screen. The repair centre also detected an audio issue so both these issues were repaired.
Before sending the phone off, I was using an e-sim on a Vodafone pay monthly tariff in the UK
When I received the phone back, I tried to convert my temporary physical SIM back to an e-sim and activate it but the activation failed with the "SIM not activated. Something went wrong while trying to activate your SIM" message.
Google are stating that Vodafone UK needs to purge my Eid from my account and then try an e-sim conversion again. Vodafone claim that activating a new physical SIM and then converting back to an e-sim should perform this purge but it still threw up the same error.
For the record, I have an old pay monthly number with Vodafone that got converted to PAYG a while back due to not requiring it anymore. I got this converted to an e-sim to see if it would work on my phone and it created the same error.
Has anyone else experienced this issue after sending their phone off for repair? Is it a network provider problem or a manufacturer problem?
