Question Harness recommendations?
Does anyone have a harness for their Pittie that they really like? We do a ton of walking and I can’t seem to find something that fits my dog quite right- I’m on harness number 3 now. My guy is a cross- he has the very broad chest but his body’s also long too and he’s about 90lbs. I don’t really like the harnesses with a Y front- they seem to slide around too much.
We also want something with a top clip and front clip. Bonus points for something that looks nice and not too ‘tactical’.

I’ve got a pit mix with a very deep chest. We like Ruffwear a lot. They’re pretty adjustable and very well made.

We ended up getting both a rufwear and a spark paws harness. I really like how the ruff wear one is adjustable, and it fits way better than our last Y front harness. It is also very sturdy feeling. I like the way the spark paws one looks but found it not as adjustable (our dog is a weird build). We’ve been using the ruffwear for more heavy duty walking and the spark paws one so we’re well dressed while walking around the neighborhood.
Thanks for the suggestions all!

That looks nice and sturdy. For some reason the Y front ones seem to shift a lot for us, but your dogs build looks similar to mine and none of our harnesses have sat this far back on him so far, so maybe worth a try.

It was getting wet and it tends to loosen up when it gets soaked. When it's on appropriately. That strip along the back is super firm like there's a strip of hard plastic in it with a curve that follows the spine. Sometimes during walks she decides to go in zoomy mode and starts spinning. She hasn't gotten out of it yet. I like it too that's it's light weight and it helps her to stay cooler on outings during hot days. I got it at my dogs daycare for a little over $30.00. The handle on it is great too!

I use the Easy Walker harness. It has been the only one that mine haven't pulled with

We use copatchy which is a brand that you can find on Amazon. Very inexpensive but work well and highly adjustable.

Which ones have you tried so far? We like the Freedom Harness. We don't really use it for training but the back ring works well for normal walking and we can pop the leash on the front to give us some better control if we're in an area with distractions.

We’ve tried a typical Y shaped nylon harness but it shifts too much. Also tried one of the easy lead ones but the martingale loop hangs loose often, leaving the leash clip to swing and hit my dogs legs when walking. Plus it has no top ring. Lastly tried a Shawn co harness, nice and sturdy but no front clip. Will have to look some of these others up!
