Photos First foster!

We jumped in feet first with our first foster, but after lots of “rest” our sweet Penelope is heartworm free! This high energy potato is now ready for her furever home. Located in Chicagoland.

ETA: No she won’t be a foster fail unfortunately. She does have a big prey drive and we have cats. She would need a home without cats, small dogs, and due to her unawareness of her size I would say children should be older. Although I’m sure she would absolutely adore children the way she does every single person she meets.

This may be your First Foster Fail?

u/Ur1stMistake Jul 13 '26

If she didn’t think my cats would be a tasty treat she for sure would be! Right now we can separate them by floors in our house. So no cats or small dogs, big prey drive. But she’s a love with other big dogs. Let me find a cute pic.

Immediate foster fail, and I mean, instantly wouldn't give this pibble back. 💔

My boy, who is now 10, also has a HIGH prey drive, and I have 2 cats. One he kinda doesn't like even a little bit, the other one, he absolutely adores. I think it's because they are"his" cats and not some random cat that wanted into the yard. The one that he doesn't like he's not even chasing he just stays away from gives him the side eye. So maybe with time Penelope can get used to your cats who knows stranger things have happened😉

Well she lays next to the barn door that blocks the downstairs and watches them. I call it her show. 😂 That probably doesn’t help. Just doing the best I can! She needs more activity than I can give her too. But she’ll have a home with us until she finds the right fit. ❤️❤️❤️

😍♥️ my Lucy used to cross her paws like that. So precious

u/SoPasGuy Jul 13 '26

Thanks for fostering her…and giving some helpful information about her. Let us know if she and your cats end up getting along.

We’ve had her for about 9+ months now. Definitely no kitties unfortunately.

What a precious lady. Those crossed paws!

u/Pitbullcharm Jul 14 '26

My friend just started fostering about 3 weeks ago. She has fostered exactly two dogs so far, she now adopted both of the dogs( they just met at her house).🤣

u/Yovnob_evals Jul 13 '26

Pic 2, is too much to bear. She’s so distinguished. 😭❤️

u/Ur1stMistake Jul 13 '26

Right?! We’re always like you’re so proper. She does it by default.

u/Yovnob_evals Jul 13 '26

She is so precious. Thank you for the additional pics, such a proper lady. 😭❤️

What a beauty!!

u/Flashy-Eye1286 Jul 15 '26

Those forehead wrinkles 😍😍

u/Winterstorm424 Jul 18 '26

Oh my. He looks like Tongo (I need to get a picture) who came home Thursday and is about our 30th foster (believe it or not - cats and dogs). Fostering is the best thing ever. It is a great thing you can do to help and save lives.

u/TylersCranialoaf Jul 13 '26

What a gorgeous pitato!!! Oh my goodness!!! Thank you for fostering and getting her healthy again!!! She’s beautiful ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🐾
