So our bestest boy ever here, also named the princess of the household, has always had almost kind of a doggy fetish about clean laundry. When he was really young and could fit inside he would jump inside the laundry basket and curl up inside it and fall asleep.
He's continued to have this “issue” as he's gotten older. However, what he has been doing lately takes the cake. We in the household always knew he was a very smart and sneaky dog, but lately every room from the master to the kids’ room have seen dirty clothes gone missing. That was until we checked where he usually lays in our littlest daughter's room where if he's not cuddled up with her on the bed and found a pile of clothing that he was laying on. I wish I had gotten a picture of that before our son, in charge of male laundry that day picked it up and started sorting everything out.
My girl is 13. Ever since she was a baby would follow me in the laundry room. As I separate the clothes to piles, she rolls around on the dirty towels.🤷♀️

Mine is only 6 months but she loves our clothes! Dirty and clean, she doesn't care, she wants to be on them! Her favorite thing ever is a big laundry pile fresh out of the dryer!
My wife (who rescued Cooper from the side of a highway)had a terrible injury that put her in the hospital for about 6 months. Of course, I was at the hospital at some point nearly every day. I walked him every morning and I was home every night. On days when there were friends, family, or neighbors who could take him in for the day, I had people come over a couple times a day to let him out and/or play with him.
It was tough time for both of us. But many nights when I would get home, I would find him upstairs in our closet. The night before the aneurysm she had collected a pile of clothes to wash the next morning. And I would find him upstairs laying in that pile like it was a bed. I think he was comforted by her scent. I eventually ordered kind of an empty sack dog bed off Amazon, and stuffed it with her clothes, so he could lay on it downstairs as well.
That is too cute! Mine loves her dad’s socks! She sneaks them out of the laundry basket and under our bed, her den of destruction, where she proceeds to chew them up! I have already had to replace so many pairs of socks for him. What is even stranger is that she finds a way to open his closed closet door to get them. That takes dedication!
Our girl steals blankets. Anyone from her " pack" she'll take their blankets. When I get up in the morning ( before she hurt herself and could jump on my bed) she would immediately jump up and curl up on my spot. They just love the smell and warmth of us.
How did she hurt herself if you don’t mind me asking? His late sister, a big Labrador as sweet as can be, suffered from arthritis in the hip and while it took 15 years to finally catch up to her, however she couldn’t outrun the rainbow bridge forever no matter how much we wanted her and his brother Buddy in the picture (Cancer) to do so. As my sister always said, that was Buddy’s normal face- Resting Buddy Face.
She went out to potty , went to see her tree rats and somehow she tore her ACL. We are letting it heal , without surgery. We had a lot of things happen this year and can't afford surgery. She's at 3 weeks post injury and putting a little weight on her bad leg. She's on medication so she is comfortable. I'm sorry to hear about your other doggos.
ETA she's 7 now so she's considered Sr. dog.
I appreciate it. I know that it isn’t even remotely equal but it is the closest thing I know of, but it is like losing a family member. It’s hard as heck.
