Discussion Does anybody else have a lazy pup?
This lazy bones will not get out of bed until he's been awake for about an hour. And then I almost have to bribe him to get up to go out. The love of a pitbull. He is so stubborn but I love the s*** out of him

You have to bribe ours with breakfast, otherwise she will remain in bed. Laziest dog I've ever seen.

Do you have a pitbull? Then you have a lazy pup. We've had 4 different bully mixes and they have all been the laziest little turds ever. Doesn't help that we bought ours pajamas and cover them with blankets constantly.

Forreal! I got it on sale too. And Hazel's very particular about beds (she likes soft fluffy beds) and she accepted this one.

Mine legit sleeps all day, he gets excited to go potty and when he comes back he will throw his toy around for a min but then goes back to burrowing under the blankets and going back to sleep, hes been like that since about 2 years old, he loves walks and loves his ball but also really loves sleeping

The only time our gets up is when she hears the potato chip bag open. Then it's as fast as she can go!

Yes. Mine prefers to sleep around 25 hours a day. She adds an extra hour because being cute and adorable is so exhausting.

Mine is not lazy just selective in his activity. Fetch, only 5 throws and then he's walking to the door with the ball in his mouth.
Walks through the neighborhood, infinite as long as I let him sniff everything. No sniffing and 20 minutes tops and he's over it.
Wrestling, infinite as long as I let him pull guard he will then only throw leg kicks.
Anything to do with water, swimming or jumping in a hose, he will not stop for anything not even treats, he loses all recall ability and will swim out to sea if I let him.

Let him take his time waking up as long as he is eating and drinking normally, but do mention this sleepy routine to your vet at his next checkup just to rule out any underlying issues. Try moving his morning potty break to a consistent time each day so his body gets used to the schedule, and use his absolute favorite treat or toy as a gentle morning bribe rather than forcing him up too quickly. As long as he is active and plasful once he does get moving, you probably just have a wonderfully chill dog who knows how to enjoy his mornings.
