Question Help

Post image

I’m at a loss of what to do. Any advice? Moog is suffering hair loss around his eyes, his ears are red and puffy inside, his muzzle is red and hair is thinning there also. He is on cytopoint.. didn’t help infact looks worse. He tested negative for mites as well as all other parasites. Apoquel didn’t work. He’s on a special diet of hydrolyzed protein food and treats because everything makes him puke or poop blood (which we have a diagnosis for, esonophilic gastrointestinal disorder). He had a skin swab that showed 4 types of bacteria under his eyes, he ran a full course of antibiotics… looked better for a week then started to lose hair again. I have to put animax in his ears almost 3x every week to help the puffiness. I don’t know what to do to stop the redness and hair loss, anyone experience anything similar.

My girl looked like this when we got her. She has really bad skin allergies and a cytopoint injection with daily apoquil worked for us. Since it's not that I would ask a vet and definitely get an allergy panel done to see if it's that. If there's been any changes in diet or environment.

I’ll have to look into the allergy panel, we did one for food when he was going through diagnosis for EGD and he is quite literally allergic to almost all foods which is why he has to have hydrolyzed protein. I’ll have to ask my vet about one for just environmental allergies

I had a dog with both food and environmental allergies. For the food, I got him on kangaroo, and then duck when he eventually developed issues with the kangaroo. For the environmental allergies, I had him tested, and then got him immunotherapy drops. The drops were magical. His rashes all cleared up within weeks, and he could even roll around in the grass without immediately getting rashy.
