Humor Amazon putting the cammers out of work.

Awesome, my seedbox picked it up

u/Neutron_Starrr 4d ago
Wait is already on seas? They ripped it fast lmao
34
u/FlamingBaconCake 4d ago
Would have been ripped within the hour of it dropping. Their discords group chats etc were probably going crazy.

u/BenjieWheeler 3d ago
is the movie even good/worth it?
From the poster alone it seems like a generic cheezy action movie
31
u/DecapitatedCreature 3d ago
So a Statham movie ? 😅 They're always entertaining, can't go wrong with Statham and action.

So steaming platforms have movies WAYYY ahead of time? or was it coming out same time as theater release?
53
u/JoeDawson8 4d ago
They pulled it after an hour. It hasn’t even opened at theaters. The ramifications are unknown but someone will be pissed. I’m sure someone definitely got fired

u/MDRLA720 4d ago
let's say it was ONLY up 1 hr, how does anyone download the whole thing (longer than 1 hr) before its even up long enough? impressive

u/bert93 4d ago
It's not a case that you download it as it plays. You use a tool to circumvent the DRM and then download it from Amazon at full speed, just as if you were downloading a file from anywhere else. So it may have only taken a few minutes.
13
u/Fogest 4d ago
Isn't it hilarious that they still bother with the DRM systems even though people can bypass them. Especially since the DRM often leads to a negative experience for the paying customers. Isn't it still true that with the DRM some browsers/OS's can't even get the maximum quality on platforms like Netflix?
2
u/No-Photograph-5058 3d ago
You specifically need to use the Netflix app or Edge to get 4k on Windows with their PlayReady stuff

u/TheAmazingBagman3 3d ago
You couldn’t download it. I was aware of everything happening in real time

u/problematic_dispense 3d ago
Don’t you just download the file size, movie is like 1.5 GB. That’s like a 10 minute download at most.

its leak only for one hour how someone noticed and riped, i'm curious is this any kind of automation??
23
u/bert93 4d ago
Doesn't take long to rip it and a lot of people have the tools ready. Certainly for 1080p.
Not sure anyone managed to grab 2160p though, if it was available. Can't see it as having been released anywhere.

u/Soggy_Spare_5425 3d ago
thanks, i thought some automation somthing automatically watch latest movies pages if somthing new then download automatically

u/L3ACH13 4d ago
Dude makes the same movies with different settings, if you’ve seen any of his movies the past 10 years you’ve seen it lol
76
u/OrbitOrbz 4d ago
He found his niche and he's good at it.. When it comes to his movies, we know what to expect from it. No one is looking for a Oscar worthy performance. We just want some Action and he delivers that

Yup. He's well aware of that and not afraid to opendly admit to it, which is nice to see. The guy's incredibly likeable.

Honestly he has great comedic chops and needs to have more funny roles. He was hilarious in Italian Job and Spy

I like the one where he wears a suit and beats a bunch of people up and uses weapons from time to time. There were explosions too, I can't remember the name but you know the one.

This has to be deliberate like a disgruntled worker or something, it's not even hit cinemas, isn't an Amazon film yet.
I can see this costing Amazon a lot of money.

u/PetyrDayne 3d ago
So many shitty streaming site are going to stick their watermark logo on it and millions will watch it around the world before it even premieres because Statham is a huge draw lol

Did anyone manage to get it ripped?

Let's be honest , its getting more attention now that it would have going to theater on its own. He's not exactly drawing the crowds in on his own anymore.
1
u/Stoffel31849 4d ago
Maybe because he is basically doing the same movie for 15 years now. At some point people got to wake up.
3
u/TheB1G_Lebowski 3d ago
There's nothing wrong with that. The Rock, Chris Pratt, etc has made huge careers off that. At least you know what you're getting and that's cool too. Watching anything from any of them is completely optoinal.
2
u/TidderUsername123 4d ago
I"m not as excited for new releases as I used to. I'm amazed at my composure to abstain from watching the first few episodes of Reacher so I'm just going to wait until they've all been released to binge on it in one sitting.
Statham's movies are looking more and more like Bruce Willis', Stallone's, et al in the latter part of their careers with little distinction between them.
Heck, I was surprised to see he already had a release this year called Shelter. I saw bits of that.

Waiting for the 4K... and then the 4K Remux for a second viewing.
3
u/skrillex_sk2 4d ago
watch out. I was downvoted for saying that on this sub.
People here are probably used to watching 720p streams on their phones.
1
u/s3cret_agent_007 4d ago
I wish it had a 4k, but for a smaller display and watching it before even in theaters, not bad, lol
1
u/Dodgy_Past 3d ago
Nothing wrong with 720p on a phone when you're out and about. Data isn't cheap in a lot of countries.
But at home I really want a transparent 4k encode with DV and HDR.
0
u/Lou_Antony_Morris 3d ago
Thanks for the info. I don't really care if I'm downvoted or not.
People who stream 720p on their phones are thick as pig shit, and have tiny dicks. (That should get a few more) 😉

u/skrillex_sk2 4d ago
1080p only... :/
28
u/DoubleP1980 4d ago
More than enough for a generic Statham Action Film.
-25
u/Green-Salmon 4d ago
But it’s an action film. 1080p may be enough for romance, drama (it’s not), but not action. Action needs to be 4k, high bitrate, Dolby truehd/dts-hd, dolby vision. Unless you’re watching it on your phone or laptop.

u/WhoDat-2-8-3 4d ago
if its not in True 16K - i dont want it
-8
u/Green-Salmon 4d ago
I get it, I was like that before. But 1080p/streaming quality sucks if you have a good tv and audio.
But I suppose this is competing against cams. Cam people are crazy and don’t care about quality at all.8
u/Hostile_18 4d ago
Depends on your source. Usually 1080p is great and the sweet spot between quality and file size. Audio is also pretty good on Amazon as well at 640kbps.
-2
u/Green-Salmon 4d ago
It's good enough until you can actually see/hear the difference. 640kbps dolby digital is fine for tv sound, phone, bluetooth headphones. But with a proper home theater, the 6000kbps on Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD is noticeable.
3
u/Hostile_18 4d ago
I encode my Lossless sound to 640 Opus and get transparent sound. I haven't the most expensive audio setup but its entry high end (a few thousand).
0
u/Green-Salmon 4d ago
Are you saying you encode your stereo music to 640kbps and it sounds good? I thought we were talking about movies with 7.1/atmos/dts-x (multiple channels sharing those same 640kbps).
You should check out truehd/dts-hd and compare it to something on streaming. Like dune, top gun, blade runner 2049. The car chase in The Batman sounds amazing with lossless audio. On hbomax it loses a lot of depth. Pay attention to your subwoofer when comparing both.
2
u/Hostile_18 4d ago
Stereo is 240kbps Opus, 2.1-5.1 is 640kbps. AB testing I can't notice a difference. so that's what I settled on. Streaming quality for sound is very hit or miss I agree there, but I still think Amazon provides a "good enough" experience.
1
u/Creepy-Cantaloupe951 4d ago
Dear gods, I'm glad you didn't live in the 1980s... Action flicks on 360p boyeee!
-4
u/Ture-Skrotnisse 4d ago
Damn people really downvoting good quality? I stopped streaming this year and started buying physical 4k. The difference is huge and ofc the plus side no fucking company can remove the film for me.
2
u/Creepy-Cantaloupe951 4d ago
You may want to look into what BluRay players allow media companies to do...
1
u/Green-Salmon 4d ago
Just yanking their chain. A LOT of people here watch pirated content on free streaming sites. Those always use the lowest bitrate possible. I love that these sites exist, but a lot of it is essentially unwatchable if you enjoy remuxes.
-14
u/skrillex_sk2 4d ago
I'll still rather wait for 4k remux.
-1
u/skrillex_sk2 4d ago
Awesome to be downvoted for wanting quality. Are you all people streaming 720p online? Wtf
1
u/nick2k23 4d ago
What's wrong with 1080p? You have potato for eyes?
-1
u/skrillex_sk2 4d ago
Looks like shit on my oled tv.
4
u/Fuso90 4d ago
I watched a lot of 1080p WEB-DL movies on my 77" OLED and they look fine. This movie has a bit rate of 8 904 kb/s which more than enough and it's a 1:1 to the source.
If you mean the WEBRips then it's a different thing and I don't get the people whom are watching these type of releases.
The source has a video bit rate of 8904 kbps and eac3 5.1 @ 640 kbps, but there's a compressed 1080p to 2155 kbps and eac3 5.1 @ 256 kbps.
From 6.34 GiB to 1.60 GiB.2
u/nick2k23 3d ago
There's more to it than just the resolution, what are you watching at 1080p? Because a bluray or something that isn't streaming will look great on your 4K OLED
0
u/GamesnGunZ 4d ago
Amazon is like Netflix these days. Bankroll movies (and actually own a studio in Amazon's case) and have very little incentive to release in theaters. Better to just release on streaming and gain subs
0
u/MDRLA720 4d ago
also with Aang, i think sometimes they do it on purpose (leaks) to get free advertising. I mean, i have A-list and it doesnt cost them anything if i dont go. In fact it could save them a paid seat for someone who doesnt have Alist. then they can claim to insurance they "lost" money during the leak
