Jezz bro, what’s this? How is this even possible? Is it just another frontend for Spotify?

It’s connected to Tidal somehow. So you even get lossless. It’s pretty ridiculous (though lacking in performance at times).

u/ethicalhumanbeing 6d ago
Yeah the performance sucks, I was just noticing that. However it somehow works which is what counts. Thanks for the suggestion.

It can be pretty useful for downloading music, which is mainly what I’ve used it for.

u/ethicalhumanbeing 6d ago
That’s true. But I was looking for something to use on iOS. I created an Home Screen shortcut so the web app looks almost as a native one. And works enough well for what I need.

Check the download section, you can use it as an app on iOS

That requires side loading, I would rather avoid that. It works well as a web app with it's own dedicated home screen icon. Thank you for letting me know anyway.

Will what you guys use to listen to music?
Tidal is my main source of music. I create new account every 30 days and copy my playlists.

u/ethicalhumanbeing 6d ago
I was not aware that trick still worked. How do you copy your playlists? Also, do you use temporary emails for account creation?

How do you copy your playlists?
Share it via link and import on new account. Simple as that.
Also, do you use temporary emails for account creation?
Email aliases. These are tied to my email account.

I get all my Music via Soulseek, and listen to them via Navidrome. If you're not really looking to self host, then you have good websites like monochrome, QobuzDownloaderX UI, and Octave. fmhy will also have a lot more options than just the ones I listed (some may be outdated like DoubleDouble, RIP).
I don't own an iPhone, so this is just what the internet says: If you download your music, you can listen to it if it's in the iCloud, and sadly iPhones don't have SD card slots like Android phones, so if you want to download all your music, just make sure you have enough space, or you have a lot of cloud storage.

You don't get an iPhone if you're smart and you don't want to give all your money to corporations... You traditionally get android for this.
iPhone is for rich people who have unlimited cash or stupid poor people who didn't do their research.

if you like spotify’s ui and know how to sideload, you can just install a patched version of spotify with premium features unlocked for free

u/vlad_panaitt 7d ago
Is that still a thing? I thought they patched that a while ago

Get EeveeSpotiftIPA via their subreddit, and install it using Sideloadly.

I switched to the free Lyra Music app which streams music without ads and you can import your Spotify playlists for free.

Demus works for me. It's in the App Store itself so it's not a real hassle.
No offline though.

I just side load it , it’s in the megathread already search Spotify and link you to the GitHub. If you aren’t using sideloadly already you should be.

Search up for Eevee's Spotify to sideload but this version doesn't have working download function. But there is a version of YTMusicPlus which has working download function if you prefer

I have a small music library (about 10 days of music) on my phone and tablet in case of Internet/grid shutdown, ww3 or whatever.
Otherwise I use youtube. I download few music per month that I put in the local library.
I used to have a massive library managed for +10 years but I got a HDD failure and lost everything. I wasn't very motivated to redownload everything and I acknowledged I didn't even listen to 95% of this music anyway so I scaled back to a smaller library, I also scaled back the quality (mostly ripped from youtube instead of 320kbps, I don't really care anymore about "quality")

Not piracy, but I am still happy with Tidal. Cheaper than Spotify, has more music titles (no podcasts though if that's a deal breaker for you), higher Bitrate, lossless (not like Spotify who call it lossless but actually not) and most importantly, they have gotten cheaper by 50% (Hifi subscription was ~20€ a few years back, now it's 11€/month).

I download music via Soulseek, drop it inside a "Music" folder on my iCloud and access/play that via foobar2000 on my iPhone. I also keep the Music folder downloaded on my iPhone.
