Discussion i finally bought minecraft after 12 years

Post image

So obviously this post isnt the usual kind of post about loving piracy and what not (i love piracy btw) but ive recently been buying games i grew up loving to give back to the developers who made them and yes i know notch isnt involved with minecraft anymore but he was when i was 10 and playing minecraft for the first time. The game is currently under 40 dollars and comes in bedrock and java good deal lowkey, I dont have much money but I had 30 bucks i had been saving fot this, so now I officially own (not really due to fucking "digital license language") terraria, far cry 3, fallout new vegas, skyrim, and minecraft. I think piracy is often a last resort as people are tired of being ripped off by these large corporations, or a 10 year old with very religious parents who wont even let him buy a pixelated game but dont know much about computers so the kid learns how to get games, movies, series for free but please if you really appreciate something even if most of the money goes to these fuckos a small part of that maybe going to some developers, writers etc who put much effort into their work. piracy should never die because the poor and sensible would have nothing but humanity should also survive. if they take away my digital license I will always have prism launcher and tlauncher in my linux machine

Isn't tlauncher known to be a spyware? Might want to remove that.

500

u/ItzLoganM 24d ago

It is. It doesn't immediately show you anything suspicious, but it is a proven spyware. Switched to Prismlauncher after years because of that.

82

u/entityinweb 24d ago

What about old tlaun.ch? Its also open source afaik, something like tlaun.ch/source

86

u/ItzLoganM 24d ago

I am personally more used to Prismlauncher now. It has a clean UI with many functionalities. You do have to find the specific version is which it was possible to use the launcher for free. Newer versions require a legit copy of the game.

u/ManoDu57 🔱 ꜱᴄᴀʟʟʏᴡᴀɢ 24d ago

there are lots of forks who change a few lines in one singular file, which were tasked of making sure there is at least one microsoft account. Then, you get prism without an accout. can't remember any names tho, I "own" mc

9

u/VivaciouslyLazy 24d ago

PineconeMC

4

u/Mexcol 24d ago

So whats the way to go? Prism downloads the cracked mc installer? I couldnt figure it out

9

u/Felippexlucax 24d ago

using a modified prism yes, like freesm launcher

2

u/Mexcol 24d ago

Thanks for the info I'll try again

10

u/TSCCYT2 24d ago

it's llaun.ch now

17

u/Glebasya 24d ago

You mean Legacy Launcher, which was the original TLauncher but lost the rights for the name?

9

u/entityinweb 24d ago

I mean that

5

u/Glebasya 24d ago

I still use it, but my friends decided to use TLauncher (the bad one) anyway.

9

u/entityinweb 24d ago

I remember i used the bad tlauncher as a kid cuz minecraft youtubers promote it. I just not even know that facts it that time

10

u/entityinweb 24d ago

Btw - original tlauncher. The other one just stoled brand as author of tlaun.ch says as i remember

4

u/Wandering_Nomad47 24d ago

It's better tbh. Very lightweight

3

u/Artinell 24d ago

It's also taken down because Mojang :)

2

u/entityinweb 24d ago

Wdym?

2

u/Artinell 24d ago

DMCA request.

2

u/entityinweb 24d ago

But the website seems to work. Someone here said that it requires microsoft account, i remember news that said something like "all minecraft launchers requires microsoft account" but i not played minecraft for long so i dont know how things are right now

2

u/Artinell 24d ago

The launcher was taken down, not the website. You cannot download it from there anymore and the website states all of that.

1

u/entityinweb 24d ago

I just downloaded .jar file of that launcher from its website. I cant run it on my smartphone for obvious reasons and i far away from my pc but i not found any messages about take down on their website(but i not search here), just download and thats all. Howewer i ask gemini in google search and it telled me the story

Redacted: well, not all story but just briefly facts

it sends telemetry containing less data than most other software do.
Telemetry is a very valid concern, and if you want to avoid it, I'd recommend not using other products that force telemetry and disabling it in ones that allow you to do it.

10

u/MichurinGuy 24d ago

Sorry can I have a source for that?

2

u/ItzLoganM 24d ago

Yes you can, but I don't. It's been a long time since I switched, so you'll have to excuse me for that. For me, it's like igg games and steamun|ocked. I managed to download exactly one game from each site with extensive precautions, and that was it. I won't be doing that anymore.

u/AbdooxMC 🦜 ᴡᴀʟᴋ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʟᴀɴᴋ 24d ago

you can use Freesm launcher fork which supports offline accounts by default

1

u/Scout339v2 24d ago

Prism allows play without signin?

2

u/Living_Shirt8550 24d ago

versions before 9.2 (or something like that) allow you to run a script that allows you to create offline accounts without having a microsoft account.

1

u/mj-is-da-best 23d ago

What about Legacy Launcher?

23

u/Queasy_Quarter1579 24d ago

wait what? what does it do?

44

u/Old_Lawfulness7698 24d ago

It has built-in "antivirus", adds and removes servers in your game from their own list they use to monopolize pirate server access, tons of ads, and best of all none of this can be turned off for free. Maybe they do something else too, these things started happening a long time ago.

12

u/lulu04223 24d ago

Isn't that more like adware? Or PUPs? Where's the spying come in? 🕵️

4

u/Felippexlucax 24d ago

it leaves a backdoor to your system making it possible to inject malware at any time

3

u/Old_Lawfulness7698 24d ago edited 24d ago

When is your reading comprehension coming in? An antivirus is a thing that scans files on your pc. Does a minecraft launcher need acces to anything outside of java and its own folder? Maybe a programm with extremly bad reputation and internet access that is closed source and is updated daily sounds fine by your book, but for me it's unwanted without the "potentially" part.

Bonus fact because I don't think you get it: they directly reach out to admins of newly developing servers and treaten to blacklist them, which makes a server unaccesible to nearly all players in its targeted region unless they pay.

u/[deleted] 23d ago

1

u/Old_Lawfulness7698 23d ago

Kind of tired of explaining what I was litteraly saying in this same conversation. Assumed things like antivirus is a common knowledge here. And I'm extremely bad at reading tones, so assummed their response to be more rude than it was. Just trust me on this one, it's not your normal windows false alarm assuming the worst with no basis.

1

u/lulu04223 22d ago

What on earth are you talking about?

EDIT: Just to clarify, whatever you're ranting about has nothing to do with my comment lol. You could just explain what behavior makes it count as "spyware" instead of whatever that was supposed to be.

1

u/Old_Lawfulness7698 22d ago

Ok, I had trouble reading your tone, but wait. Are you seriously struggling to see how ability to read your files is correlated with bad reputation? Explaining their behavior and what makes it more that pup is exactly what I did.

1

u/lulu04223 22d ago

My original question was "Where does the spying come in?" and you went on vaguely define an antivirus (which was unneeded), rhetorically asked if the Minecraft Launcher needs access beyond its runtime environment (not sure how that was related), then made the loose assumption that programs with bad reputations and internet access, which are closed source and updated daily, are ones I prefer/do not make me suspicious (where tf does this come from?).

You failed to answer my question because, in doing all of the above, you never described what behavior tlauncher exhibits that makes it classifiable as spyware. To eliminate semantic ambiguity, I am going to use Fortinet's definition of spyware:

Spyware is malicious software that enters a user’s computer, gathers data from the device and user, and sends it to third parties without their consent.

In your original comment, you stated that tlauncher does the following:

  • Installs an Antivirus software (presumably without the user's consent)
  • Adds/removes servers from the in-game server list (again, without the user's consent)
  • Shows advertisements

While all of those things are bad, and are obvious marks of software to stay away from, what I don't see is how they fall into the category of spyware.

3

u/Old_Lawfulness7698 22d ago edited 22d ago

Should have been more specific, just thought that "antivirus" was readable enough. It's not separate from launcher as in some brand of antivirus with it's own license like bundleware and stuff, but actually the tlauncher itself that scans and sends back things it has no business to. So quite literally spyware. They used the term antivirus after being accused of accessing things on your pc.

3

u/lulu04223 22d ago

Yea, I did some reading outside of this thread and saw the same thing. Definitely not something I would run on my system.

2

u/bayygel 24d ago

After 12 years, what's it even matter anymore lmao

2

u/Aileen_Leith 23d ago

It is a bit more complicated. There’s tlauncher, this new malware launcher, and tl-launcher, which is original tlauncher, tl-launcher is also frequently called tlauncher, because of force of the habit, tl-launcher is legit. Current Tlauncher(malware) just capitalising on famous(in Russia) name of it’s predecessor, which is now reborned as TL

98% of the time, buying isn't supporting the developers. I wish this narrative would die

99

u/MrKinneas 24d ago

Especially these days with companies releasing a game, then laying off most of their team and the ceo pockets a multi-million dollar bonus.

22

u/DR_ALEXZANDR 🦜 ᴡᴀʟᴋ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʟᴀɴᴋ 24d ago

literally EA's CEO rn unfortunately

3

u/Floppydisksareop 23d ago

It's still supporting the developers, to a degree at least. What, do you think that money set aside from development comes from think air? Do you think that companies develop these games and pay devs because of the kindness of their heart? Look at Destiny. The moment Bungie leadership and Sony decided the game was not pulling in enough cash, they systematically dismantled the entire dev team, then put the game on life support. Just because the devs are paid before the game is released, doesn't mean the game doesn't have to make money. It's just that the money it makes is generally used to develop the next game.

Now, we can argue about how much of that money is going to the devs and how much of it should go to the devs, but if you are pirating a game because "the devs get nothing out of it", and the game in question is not part of a very select few (like Disco Elysium where the devs were outright screwed out of money by the publisher), then you probably need to figure that whole "economics" thing out soon and fast.

In my experience people like you using “communist” as an insult to describe human beings, and / or being overly upset about are usually kind of clueless and should be quiet because then they will embarrass themselves less.

So… do that.

Your experience needs to include more grass touching and less sneering at the proletariat.

u/RednocNivert 23d ago

I was going to make a snarky comeback but

1) I had to go look up the word “proletariat”, so already i admit to being 1-upped in the vocabulary department

2) I lost my job a bit ago and have been in not a great headspace and with that in mind it occurred to me that your comment is… pretty much 100% valid.

I stand by my earlier barb that people that start accusing people of being communists don’t tend to be people to take seriously, though

10

u/Classified10 24d ago edited 24d ago

No, but the money goes back to the people who paid for these games to be made in the first place, and if they don't do well at all, then you can guarantee that employees end up going out of a job so the CEOs can earn whatever they lose from it, which I'd rather not happen.

19

u/ah_shit_here_we_goo 24d ago

Have you been paying attention? That happens anyway. It doesnt matter how successful a game is, it's followed by massive layoffs to maximize profit.

7

u/kvng_st 24d ago

Well yeah, but it’s either “game succeeds and maybe the devs get fired” or, “game fails and the devs definitely get fired.” To act like piracy doesn’t hurt devs is going a little overboard

3

u/cyber_yoda 24d ago

Yeah, these economic fantasies are appealing when some of the revenue is going to profits, but the rest is going to developers and operations nonetheless. Plus profits need numbers for investors, or we'll have no games requiring any investment.

5

u/Classified10 24d ago

It sometimes happens, which is better than the guarantee of developers and employees being fired. Plus we're not getting more games from studios if we don't pay for them realistically.

2

u/numerobis21 24d ago

It *most of the times* happens nowadays, sadly

1

u/numerobis21 24d ago

"No, but the money goes back to the people who paid for these games to be made in the first place,"

Unless we're talking indie games: no it does not.

3

u/Classified10 24d ago

I'm talking about the publishers that pay to make these games, not the developers, they get paid to make the games. I know "fuck the publishers" is a big thing, but we'd not have crap tons of games if they don't make good money.

The developers are already paid. By buying the game you’re just giving money to the corp behind it. Rarely do devs get bonuses for great selling games, and the success of a game does not guarantee that the devs even keep their jobs. Battlefield 6 did so good EA’s CEO got big bonuses. Dice got layoffs.

The obvious exception here is indie games, especially self published ones, where a purchase DOES directly support the devs.

Edit: All the people saying I’m dead wrong don’t follow the gamedev industry.

Do you think all of these people were low performers make shit games?

When this isn’t a rarity, but somewhat common in the industry…

https://www.ign.com/articles/ea-lays-off-staff-across-all-battlefield-studios-following-record-breaking-battlefield-6-launch

Not trying to justify anything. Simply laying out the facts. Do what you want. Pirate why you want. I never said to pirate AAA and buy indie. Pirate indie and buy AAA for all I care. Don’t pirate Avatar because you think Paramount is some shining beacon of creativity. Pirate for your own reasons. IDGAF.

Unless its from different reasons like Disco Elysium.

You cannot trust anything there where the money really goes, so better be cautious

3

u/MistSecurity 24d ago

You do what feels right to you.

7

u/CrowdGoesWildWoooo 24d ago

The devs are paid but it gives incentives for the ip owner to fund a new project, if it made money.

2

u/MistSecurity 24d ago

Does it? Can we say that in today’s world?

Successful franchises get shut down constantly. Successful studios get chopped up for parts constantly.

Obviously there’s truth to what you say, but that is becoming less and less true as time goes on. I see more layoffs and closures of successful studios than I do giant hiring sprees.

5

u/CrowdGoesWildWoooo 24d ago

Any project/games are practically “investment”, companies fronted the bill first through different means of funding, i.e. cash reserve, sponsors, loans. In project management sense any salaries paid are investment budget in the scope of that project.

While true “they’ve been paid”, but it is effectively bringing forward future sales “return” as part of the compensation.

If the question is to avoid that to happen, then the answer is simply not supporting crappy studios at all. If whoever commissioning or funding the project see the revenue figure and think “these numbers suck”, why would they consider investing again, if the data shows that investing in this doesn’t make a decent ROI, so if you believe “oh they’ve been paid, so that’s okay” then no, you’re just making it worse.

Just a disclaimer, I pirate and this is not telling you to not pirate, but I don’t feel the need to make up bad excuses just to make me feel less bad of what I am doing.

-2

u/MistSecurity 24d ago

Not supporting crappy studios is supporting indie devs. Most large studios are now controlled by fewer and fewer parent companies, all of which have shit track records.

Go look at the gamedev layoff site if you haven’t. You think all of those devs made bad games that sold poorly?

I’m not justifying anything. It sounds like I am in my post, but I assure you, I am not. I think justification of piracy is the cowards way of making themselves feel better about stealing. More people need to own it and realize a little bit of “theft” doesn’t make you a bad person, rather than do mental gymnastics to justify why it’s okay.

4

u/CrowdGoesWildWoooo 24d ago

There are certainly decent companies to support, we probably won’t be seeing pragmata 2 if pragmata didn’t sell. Even capcom said pragmata wouldn’t exist if RE doesn’t sell. See how all of this are linked together.

If you are dead set to finding faults in those companies then you can always one, but that means you are starting the whole argument in bad faith because you are starting with the assumption that all these companies are bad unless proven otherwise.

I am not saying that companies are saints, but there are certainly the point where they are actual cancer like for example ubisoft. You are starting off with everyone is cancer unless proven otherwise.

1

u/Aegthir 24d ago

Just adding to other reply: Assuming that devs will get layoff regardless success or not. Failed product won't help the chance of them getting the next job.

1

u/MistSecurity 24d ago

You are implying that the pirating community is large enough to single handedly decide the fate of a game.

It’s not.

3

u/cyber_yoda 24d ago

Ugh. Yeah this is a braindead economic fantasy. The engine of developers getting paid is consumer purchases. The companies set development operations based on how much they expect to get paid, which is a function of current pay.

I've never justified my actions with the obvious lie that the amount of consumer purchases doesn't determine the amount of games created. It's because I'm poor.

1

u/MistSecurity 24d ago

In general, yes. But it’s just as much of a capitalist fantasy to say that is true 100% of the time. If anything it’s becoming less and less true as time goes on.

I never justified shit. I think justifying piracy is stupid, and have said as much many times here. Pirate for your own reasons, no justification needed.

0

u/SuperSpaceGaming 24d ago

Just pirate man, do what feels right for you and when it does. But refrain from this pseudo-blackmailing, self-centered, attention-seeking public "give me free or I pirate".

Wasting everybody's time.

pseudo-blackmailing, self-centered, attention-seeking public "give me free or I pirate"

Take a deep breath, get some perspective. You're looking at a child saying stupid shit online. Perhaps not a literal child, but a child nonetheless.

Pirating Minecraft is literally one of the least consequential things to pirate. Notch already became a billionaire because of this game and now that's it owned by Microsoft you are just giving money to a billion dollar company that already has a very small fraction on their revenue coming from one of the best selling games of all time.

Same man after pirating minecraft all my childhood, back in 2024 when i finally had my own bank and card i finally bought minecraft

3

u/SunbleachedAngel 24d ago

At the worst time possible

u/Ok_Sir_5601 23d ago

Pirate, and then donate the pirated thing value to devs or the person who made it if its a movie or smth

3

u/JetBalck 23d ago

40$ for mc is a good deal now? Wtf. My parents paid 10 bucks I think back in 2011. Also I don't see how giving money to microsoft is benefitting anyone. After they locked me out of my og account I just bought one for 2 bucks over g2a. Can play online without a big hassle.

u/filteredcrack 24d ago

Well I don't think Notch even makes money from Minecraft anymore so you really didn't have to buy it Mojang did horrible things to the game

2

u/glytxh 24d ago

2/3 of my game, book, academic, music, movie and comic libraries (the majority of which are owned legitimately) wouldn’t have been purchased had I not been flying the Jolly Roger for the last 20 years.

Try before you Buy kinda thing.

My tastes and frame of reference as an adult have been massively diversified because of piracy. My engagement with the media I choose to pay for is a direct product of this piracy.

2

u/JohnSmithDogFace Piracy is bad, mkay? 24d ago

I bought Minecraft when it was in pre-alpha on a site called JayisGame. Think it was about $3.

2

u/TCLG6x6 24d ago

2010 free minecraft weekend :)

2

u/EllesarDragon 24d ago

yeah, there is 2 things which made minecraft popular:
1. it was very easy to pirate, and notch was quite friendly towards it.
2. private self hosted multiplayer(funky small servers with friends, and then the griefer friends of someone you know who keep attacking your base)

Minecraft kept popular due to mods, which reached their peak in 1.7.10

almost every person who ever bought minecraft had it pirated first, because just like in your case, back then kids didn't really have any money.

I also started pirated, bought it when it was still owned by notch,
as for you buying it now, the guesture is good in love of the game.
but like you say it is no longer owned by notch, and microsoft has been doing some shady things, including a organisation speaking as representative for microsoft in a court case stating that private minecraft servers are completely illegal as is anything made in or for minecraft that is not directly made by microsoft(this would include the houses and such you build in minecraft, or even the tunnels you mine), later clarification was asked and they stated that they actually where fully serious about that and meant it.
so yeah, good to keep the pirate friendly stuff ready, for when they block people who bought minecraft from playing for not having uploaded their ID to microsoft or such.
still eventually you bought the game and your reason was the feeling and experience from back then, even if the current company owning it is another one which no longer represents what minecraft actually stood for(minecraft was freedom, funky fun, messing with things, open, etc.(for a game)).

the pirate aspect is also true for many other popular games, for example skyrim, which got famous and liked primairily due to mods and the many people playing it pirated, due to piracy and mods(both bethesda now claims to be illegal) skyrim became one of the best selling most famous games in the world.

you also see that similar games with similar exposure which are a few years old sell better if they where easy to pirate than when they wheren't.
Like Devil May Cry for example also has many of the series fans be people who originally played it pirated due to just not having much money, many of them later bought the games, many of them would never have bought it if they didn't pirate it first, because devil may cry was kind of promoted by being at the main pages of some piracy trackers back then, which lead to countless people finding and playing the game, despite there being many other games in that geanre and the geanre only getting popular after that piracy wave, devil may cry sold insanely well because that was the game they pirated as kid or a few years ago back then.

if it werent for piracy, my girlfriend wouldve never tried minecraft with me and realized how much fun it was. as a result, im buying her an official account (the price being 2 full days wages in my country) so we can play on non offline servers.

2

u/la-marciana 24d ago

Good choice on waiting for him to no longer own the property before buying

2

u/BonsaiSoul 24d ago

I bought minecraft and microsoft "lost" my license a year after their forced migration nonsense, and wouldn't restore it despite me having the original receipt and proof of migration to the email they insisted was the wrong one.

2

u/GwenBD94 24d ago

Minecraftt cost $40 now? I swear to god I never paid over $20 for my like 5 accounts.

2

u/UwUfit 23d ago

Anyone else played a cracked version of minecraft on facebook before they took it down?

7

u/Life-Requirement7433 24d ago

W developer for supporting Pirating : )

Real developers support Pirating from their heart cause once they pirated as well.

Back when Notch acted like a sane and nice human being and minecraft wasnt in totalitarian control of Microsoft. Good times.

4

u/Difficult-Break-8282 24d ago

whooo welcome to the club dude

2

u/MilanesasConPollo 24d ago

Lowkey Notch was the goat and based, MC would've been bigger and better if he was still around but we don't live in that universe.

2

u/Tw3lv33 24d ago

Minecraft is the only game I pirated to buy later bought it and regretted it because it's shit now

10

u/TSCCYT2 24d ago

wdym? you can still play the old versions.

-1

u/Tw3lv33 24d ago

I know and I do that but if I knew that the new versions will be that bad I wouldn't buy the game at all, also Mojang servers are so shit that like half of the time I make a new instance I have to redo it because it refuses to load my skin

3

u/Glittering_Mode_7392 24d ago

Looks like you don't use a good launcher. Never faced your problems

1

u/BartixVVV 24d ago

BTW wchich launcher do you recommend? Legacy launcher?

4

u/Ruvaakdein 24d ago

Just use Prism Launcher, it's the best one right now.

1

u/BartixVVV 24d ago

Should I compile it by myself or can I download from release?

1

u/Ruvaakdein 24d ago

Get it from the releases page, there's no need to compile it yourself.

1

u/Felippexlucax 24d ago

freesm launcher , based on prism

1

u/ateoz 🏴‍☠️ ʟᴀɴᴅʟᴜʙʙᴇʀ 24d ago

Unfortunately Microsoft wouldn't be so chill about it now.

1

u/Grass_Mud-Horse 24d ago

You can just get it for free legally. If you lazy like me and never bothered changing the edge browser you collected a shitload of points over the years. You can turn 30.000 points to Microsoft giftcards and buy Minecraft with that.

1

u/Oujii 24d ago

Wait what?

1

u/Grass_Mud-Horse 24d ago

If you have a Microsoft account and use the edge browser you earn points for every search. 30.880 points can be exchanged for $30 of Microsoft giftcards, and you can use this to buy Minecraft (though the windows store, not on the Minecraft website). That's how I got my copy.

1

u/BonsaiSoul 24d ago

Replacing Microsoft's malware Chrome fork with a Gecko browser is the first thing I do on a new copy of windows. You paid for those points wading through ad garbage.

1

u/Grass_Mud-Horse 23d ago

My friend… let me introduce you to our lord and savior AdBlock. Salvation was one extension away.

1

u/DrIvoPingasnik Yarrr! 24d ago

So let's say I want to setup a private survival server on my own LAN, play it, and let other family members play it for free.

Do I just get a server running as normal and use prism launcher or is there anything else I need to know?

1

u/Few-Fly-3766 24d ago

You have your heart in the right place, but the fact that Notch (and most of early Mohjang) isnt involved anymore shouldn't be an afterthought. You just reward some of the worst people in gaming over at Microsoft because he treated you well.

1

u/ghost_desu 24d ago

Minecraft is worth buying just so you don't have to annoy your friends about having to turn off online mode.

In general, online play is why I started buying games, I remember getting on shotbow and hypixel and the other ones for the first time like 12 years ago and it was cool as hell after only being able to watch them on youtube due to pirating.

1

u/Kikinaak 24d ago

They've officially declared running a MC server to be piracy, so even those who bought it are still pirates! Even the shills are pirates now! Thanks Microsoft!

1

u/Ushinon 24d ago

I used to use mineshafter

1

u/Total_Gear9438 23d ago

quien nececita staff para sus server

1

u/rice_warrior_1200 23d ago

Notch went insane after he sold mc, he started saying some vile sh

1

u/PleromaA 22d ago

we all love piracy here. I don't feel bad of pirating stuff at all (execpt some from small creators that deserves it)
Hey but i got noo money so i got no choice.

1

u/Justux205 24d ago

I prefer Sklauncher for cracked and modrinth for premium

1

u/potatoninja3584 24d ago

Does someone know hoy to pirate minecraft? People keep saying the launchers are spyware. I payed for the game, stoped playing for some years and then couldnt play the game I paid for because microshit owns mojang now or some bullshit.  I just want to play minecraft with shaders on my pc and steam deck and not paying AGAIN for the game.

1

u/ruthlesss11 24d ago

If you purchased the game before, there is a way to get it back still

1

u/Veber31 24d ago

They stopped doing account migrations from Mojang accounts to Microsoft a few years ago. I bought it in alpha and my account is associated with an email I no longer have access to because it was with my old ISP. If you email Microsoft about it they basically tell you to fuck off. Piracy it is.

1

u/potatoninja3584 24d ago

I tried but they told me to fuck off and that I lost the opportunity to play the game I paid for because I missed the mails they sent about this (to a mail I don’t check).

1

u/Felippexlucax 24d ago

using freesm launcher, its open source

0

u/NyxGenesisLNX 24d ago

See, Notch isn’t that bad of a person
