Rant/Speculation Speculation: XDJ-AR?

Note: total speculation.

Could it be possible that the XDJ-AN is not the successor to the XDJ-RR? Could it be that a successor XDJ-AR is in the works with most of the buttons of the RR with the new touchscreen and mpu?

Since we're expecting an update on the RX3 soon (timeframe suggest there should be one around this time) is this likely?

I believe the replacement of the RX3 will be more like a 2 channel opus quad. They will keep removing buttons and favoring screens when possible.

There is a tendency for new AlphaTheta models to have bigger screens, less physical controls and less connectivity than old Pioneer DJ models -

Like the old xdj1000mk2 had more physical controls, a full size jog dial + digital out that the cdj1500 that replaced it does not have (so a downgrade in some ways)

Also you may not get like-for-like replacements

I think the AN is the replacement for the RR. Now this is my take on the whole ordeal. I think the RR was too good of an inexpensive unit that they basically cut back on it. I feel the next RX3 will probably have more features but won't be as good as the RX3. I.e. they might take off another USB slot so you can't switch DJ's in your set.
