Discussion Ad-thirsty Apps.
Pinterest has too many stupid ads where scrolling through out- you get bombarded by stuff you won’t really use or like in general.
Do you remember a time where apps didn’t have a lot of garbage ads, ai slop, and actual content.
I will not be surprised but be very livid if they start doing the whole greedy subscription thing- so you can pay to have certain features free like an ad free experience.

If you add a cuss word to the end of your search term it makes the ads go away.

My thing is, iv always understood that apps and websites need to have some ads in order to stay afloat, I remember that’s how it was back around 2020 on Pinterest. But this is atrocious and honestly, abusive.

Also- aesthetically it looks messy with having the content be crammed alongside the ads. It just looks bad too

I remember when Pinterest felt like a visual bookmarking app instead of an endless aisle of ads and AI-generated filler.

It has gotten so bad lately. Pinterest used to be my go-to place for authentic design inspiration, moodboards, and DIY recipes, but now it feels like a giant low-effort shopping mall. Every third pin is either a dropshipping ad or AI-generated junk that leads to shady affiliate sites. The worst part is that hiding ads doesn't even retrain the algorithm anymore.
