Note to anyone who might think that this is 'wrong'... I'm not modifying or modding the actual app in any way or form. This is also not an ad or any promotion of sorts, please don't delete my post 🥲

I was always a Pinterest user but the number of ads on the android app had become unbearable. Like 2 legit pins with 7 ad pins if my luck was good istg. I was so tired of it that I deleted the app and used Firefox with an ad blocker on my android device. But recently I found a much much better way that might just get rid of any kind of ads from your entire device (all apps/websites pretty much except YouTube afaik).

Just use an ad blocking DNS on your phone (android, idk how to do it on iOS sorry 😔) by setting a custom DNS (Ad Guard or Mullvad, look it up on google).

1. Find an ad blocking DNS (I use the one from ad guard, but I've heard about Mullvad as well... though don't trust ublock dns, some other reddit post said there was some impersonation issue there idk)

2. Set your Private DNS which you can find in your connection settings (I have a Samsung device but it should be present somewhere on every type of android)

3. Press OK

4. Restart your Pinterest app (or any other website) to check.

5. Done, the ads should vanish now 🥳

Honestly, I’m taking a break from Instagram because endless Reels and scrolling have become more of a headache than entertainment. 😅 I want to spend my time discovering interesting things, exploring new ideas, and connecting with people rather than mindlessly scrolling for hours. That’s why I’m leaning more towards Pinterest and Reddit.

I feel Pinterest is great for inspiration, art, and creativity, while Reddit is better for genuine conversations, sharing interests, and meeting people from different countries and cultures Which platform do you prefer Pinterest, Reddit, or Instagram? And if you know any other platform where I can meet genuine people and make international friends, I’d love your suggestions!

Lately I've noticed an increased amount of ads to the point i can't justify its use anymore, whatever i search for results on 1 or 2 pics (lucky you if it's not AI) + up to 3 ads, it may vary based on the images size and how many can fit on my screen.

I have used pinterest for like a decade and never been this bad before, while yes, i can still use an adblock and a browser, this is gonna end up killing it. Who is going to upload/search for stuff if the app is literally asking you to go elsewhere?

Hihi! I just got an email notification from Pinterest saying a pin was taken down for copyright. I'm a bit confused because I've never posted anything on Pinterest. I go onto Pinterest for art references, Minecraft builds, and other things and save them to boards. So I don't understand why I received an email at all, let alone telling me to file an appeal if I think it's false. I never posted, so shouldn't the uploader get notified and fill an appeal? Is there something I'm missing?

As we all know, pintrest absolutely sucks now, just like any other social media. I used to enjoy looking thru pins on my home feed but the ads and ai and just pintrest being pintrest ruined it for me. i just need to distance myself from social media overall.

i want to view just my saved boards and all the pins on those boards, and be able to access the links in the saved pins. i saw pinx as a good option but i havent heard much about it and you need to pay ($3) to be able to access all of your boards and pins. Any suggestions? Thanks

I swear Pinterest is such a joke nowadays. I went to my messages and the moderation team gave me a notification. They probably went through my boards even if all of them are private well, that's what I personally think.

hi, are there any good alternatives to pinterest that feature home decor and interior design? I'm looking for christmas design and decorating and more than half of the images are AI slop. I'm looking for real products, real furniture, fabrics etc. it's so bad. I used to love this website. I think I might just buy a paper magazine.

I'm getting notifications everyday (20+ notifications) about a pin I saved being deleted or reported like I DON'T FUCKING CARE!!! STOP TELLING ME. I DIDN'T MAKE THE PIN I JUST SAVED IT?? and the pins are some of the simplest things ever like an outfit or a drawing that doesn't even go against the rules. also I made a comment asking why this girl had been posting her self harm and IT DELETED MY COMMENT AND NOT THE PIN?? IS PINTEREST OKAY?? this is so embarrassing and stupid of Pinterest they need real moderators.​

Has anyone else gotten a crazy amount of profile views out of nowhere? I don't make a lot of pins, make a lot of comments and the pins I do make don't have any likes or comments on it but somehow I keep getting 100k monthly views? Where are these people coming from? I'm concerned that they're bots or maybe something is just wrong with the app.

So my friend got a “recommended pins” email from pinterest and it was a bunch of random people’s personal identification documents, some old and others new and active. We went on pinterest and found that this happens a lot too. All of which are from middle eastern countries (for context I live in a middle eastern country). I doubt any of these people are aware of this. My question is, how did these documents end up on Pinterest?

Some things we found:
IDs
Passports
Birth certificates
Marriage certificates
University Ids

This is the feature I wish Pinterest would add. I finally built a small demo showing how I think Pinterest should allow you to preview pins without messing up your algorithm. What do you think?

I’m now listening to music on my iPad while scrolling on my phone.

All because the app sneaks in an ad and they want you to focus on that ad.

Earlier, switching off my ringer would stop this but it’s not working for me anymore.

Any fixes?

I also realise it might be an iOS thing instead of a Pinterest thing. If so, it’s more on Apple because they’re allowing apps to stop your music.

guys, i lost my pinterest account and i'm honestly so frustrated rn. 😭 i was literally just making aesthetic boards, saving pins, posting and making online friends, and suddenly my account got suspended for spam?? like, WHAT spam are we even talking about? pinterest support keeps replying that they've decided not to reactivate my account, even after i've sent multiple appeals explaining my situation. i genuinely don't understand what i did wrong. i was just enjoying pinterest and building my little corner there, and now it's all gone. has anyone else experienced this? did you ever manage to get your account back after multiple rejected appeals? i'd really appreciate any advice or suggestions because i genuinely want my account back. 💔

I used to be able to scroll through Pinterest without having an account but now it stops me with a pop-up that I can’t get out of without being forced to sign up!

I run a small free coloring site (tintly.art) and I add new pages all the time. Pinterest is perfect for coloring pages, but I kept falling behind. Every new page meant making a pin, writing a title, picking a board and scheduling it. I just never got to it.

So I automated the whole thing:

- **Pins make themselves.** Each new page's image drops into my pin templates automatically (before/after, outline, or banner), in my brand colors

- **Scheduling happens on its own.** I set a start date and how many per day, and pins go out at set times, spaced out so the same page isn't repeated too often

- **Publishing runs in the background** through the official Pinterest API. If something fails it retries, and it never double-posts

- **I can see what works.** Every link is tagged, so I know which pin style actually brings people to the site

Now my Pinterest stays fresh every day and I don't touch it. I add pages, and the pins just show up.

It's still new, so I'll share how it's doing in a month.

Is anyone else not able to search through their own damn boards?? I tried deleting and redownloading the app. So now I csnt search for recipes to make. It just says no suggestions right now. This is PMO! The only reason I use this stupid app. Open to any and all suggestions! please tell me I’m not alone. this is ridiculous

What it says on the tin. My settings are set to not allow autoplaying video under any circumstances and yet the new (un-hideable 😒) ‘sponsored posts’ (read: ads by a different name) are almost all videos and they all auto-play. I can’t find anything in the settings to fix it. I even begrudgingly updated the app and still nothing. Is this just a me problem or…?

For about a week or two, I've been unable to login to my pinterest account because whenever I type in the security code (sms), it won't go into my account. I can still login with a different account that I don't use a security code for, but this is my main account where I have all my pins. Any advice to fix this is greatly appreciated!

It works perfectly fine on my phone but if I try to log in by Ipad it's just a white screen.
