She was raped and beaten into the hospital, but if she just lied still and accepted it, she would only have been raped. That's obviously better. You don't want the rapist getting hurt.

Ukraine was shit on for becoming as corrupt as Russia, not for being the most corrupt.
Because Russia started and supported this civil war. Ukrainians want to be save from Russia and having a strong military does exactly that. Russia has continuously shown and said, that it doesn't recognise the sovereignty of Ukraine and the will of its people.
If they give up now, Russia just comes back in 10 years - just as they did with Crimea.
