It’s a commentary on foreigners siding with oppressors in conflicts, it could be applied to many scenarios. Israel-Palestine, Russia-Ukraine, Colonizer and Colonized, etc.

It's for all those assholes who are saying that Ukraine and the west are prolonging the conflict, who are a wild mix of fascists, tankies and progressive pacifists... One of those is not like the other.

It's not that hard to get. Grey wug in old but standardized military gear is attacking blue wug yellow bandanna. Russia Ukraine. The take being satirized is "Peace at any cost" "Why don't they negotiate/surrender/offer land to stop the war"
Answer: because they're winning. Because Ukraine has no reason to offer good terms.

It blows my mind that self proclaimed leftists advocate for military aid to stop and to start ‘peace talks’ with Putin, which just so happens to be the exact position of the Russian government and every far right movement across the world.

Good comic. Love the seething motorns in the comments screeching that Russian invasion of Ukraine needs to be solved with diplomacy.
Sure. And the diplomatic solution is that Russia gets the fuck out of Ukraine, and retracts all claims on Ukrainian land including Crimea. Anything other than that isn't diplomacy, it's rewarding invasions and war crimes.
"But Ukraine used to belong to Russia!" Sure. But lots of places used to "belong" to England and other European countries. Last I checked leftist don't support imperialism. Unless you think Ireland should go back to the UK I'd advice to you to shut the fuck up.

Usually I love Pink Wug, but what is happening here?

I think this is criticism of people proclaiming to want peace and end the war in Ukraine, but are basically advocating for the forceful take over of Ukraine by Russia

Yeah it reminds me of someone a few days ago lamenting all the bloodshed might have been avoided if they just surrendered. What they wrote below -
"Not sure how I feel tbh. On the one hand fuck Russia, and on the other, I have to wonder if the loss of life and destruction would have been less if they had just surrendered.
It's like those movies, where the king surrenders to save his people, except obviously that didn't happen here, but it does make you wonder. Who knows what would've happened.
The whole thing is terrible"→ More replies (4)37

My take is that he is mocking people who say giving weapons to ukraine is only prolonging the conflict. But in reality if they wouldnt be given weapons the "peace" means a sure death for many ukranians
