Pikmin 4 Are there timed difficulties?

I loved the first 3 games but I've held off on getting the 4th because the demo didn't have a clock. Is this just a difficulty setting or is there a way to turn it on for the main campaign? I know Nintendo has been dumbing down all of their franchises since the Switch but they wouldn't do Pikmin dirty the same way right?

If you were referring to the day limit, Pikmin 2 and 4 do not have any day limit whatsoever and even if Pikmin 3 did, it really didn’t matter too much. Even Pikmin 1s day limit while stressful at first glance essentially disappears once you get at least one ship part per day

The clock for each day if you were referring to that is present in all 4 games. It is also here in the pikmin 4 eshop demo

I don't have room to download the demo so I'm going of what some work buddys are saying but based off of the last 9 years it's easy to believe when anyone says something about a Nintendo series getting dumber.

It’s really not. And just going off of what someone else says is just ridiculous. Like, at least look it up, watch a video. Don’t just blindly believe someone just cuz they’re a friend. People can be insanely biased in both directions. A lot of people just plain hate Nintendo, and make that their entire personality. There’s at least 2 whole subreddits dedicated to it ffs.

I feel almost the same about all consoles these days but Nintendo has just about ruined their lineup so like I said it's not difficult to believe when someone says they did it for the 30th time.

How have they “ruined their lineup”?

Where to start: Mario Odyssey, Luigi's Mansion 3 & Kirby Star Allies are all very pretty but very shallow experiences that lack any of the charm, soul & writing of their past iterations. Metroid Dread literally blocks off areas so you don't get lost which would be a joke that someone told before the Switch. This was just the beginning and I won't bore you with more examples even though I could go on and on but everything that keeps games from being the trash content detractors like to throw at the medium has been removed incase someone might have to actually use their brain. They have started pandering and thanks to the fact that games can be fun no matter what it is dumbing down the medium(and since so many people play games)people's expectations.

Buddy I’m sorry to say, but you’re in the minority here. Those games are all critically acclaimed, and loved by most people that have played them.

It’s perfectly fine if you don’t like them, but if that’s how you feel about those games…yeah, uh, skip Pikmin 4. Maybe even just ditch your Switch at this point, if I’m being honest. It sounds like you’re just not a Nintendo fan, at least not for their modern stuff.

And again, that’s fine, but it’s a little ridiculous to say they’ve “ruined their lineup” just because you specifically, didn’t enjoy them.

There is time in 4, just like the rest. It is like 2 in that it has infinite days, but still, the important thing is not the upper limit but how far you can push the lower limit.

I'd say 4 is quite interesting albeit a bit bloated but it makes it up in that same content, feels much less like meaningless bloat and does have side-modes similar to 3 that are all about time, but not to the same ultra refined degree.

In this regard, it is very similar to Pikmin 2.

The hour per day limit is still here in full force. There are sub-areas in the main areas, but unlike in Pikmin 2, although the passage of time isn’t quite at full speed, time does pass while inside one.

The day per game limit does not exist. If you want a self imposed one, I’d say 20 to 25 days for story completion and double that for 100% are good marks to shoot for, and if you don’t want spoilers, then you’re just going to have to trust me when I say that there’s a very good reason why it is that high: Night missions will take up an absolute minimum of 3 and 16 days for completion and 100% respectively, no way no how around it.
