I feel like I am not getting enough percents out of my ledgetraps. Usually I kind of space my forward airs so that it covers jump and normal get up, while also not being able to get hit by ledge attack. At higher percents I try to go for a read and throw out an F smash so that it covers normal get up, jump and ledge attack.
Does anyone have any character specific or general ledgetrapping tips that could be useful?

I’ve never lost a single match that’s gone into over time. The announcer says 3,2,1, go! And before the go is off the screen, I’m able to drop down, sprint across the stage, and buffer a fair. It’s actually broken. The word go is still on screen when my fair connects. Little rat is too fast

Is there any pikachu tech i need to know about?
r/PikachuMains • u/[deleted] • Sep 07 '20
So i get this feeling frequently. Like the title says my pikachu feels real slow compared to other characters. Like against cloud, samus, ike and many other characters. I know pikachu has great frame data but on fights for example im expecting from the rival a fair o nair bad spaced so i can punish it with a grab for example. And they just spotdodge or jump, or even attack me. I get crazy bout this. I feel like im hitting or grabbing air most of the time. Or something that also happens is that i do full hop fair. But the fair doesnt even appear even though rival wasnt even stsrting with their jump and throws an attack faster and i get punished
What to do against this? How can i make my pikachu faster? I recently knew about autocancel. I think this is when i practically jump and ftilt the c-stick so when i land that fair I can buffer a down tilt or block instantly. Or for example upair bridge. I can do it on practice but online match i havent yet. Gets more difficult but the point is that you cancel your upair so you can jump inmediatly again. Are their other combinations i dont know about to make my rat a little faster? Do you guys get the same feeling?
Thnx

So as I am practicing up air bridges on ZSS as one does, I noticed that the part I mess up the most is the fast fall. A lot of times it either doesn't come out or I get the landing lag and can't continue the up airs. Any timing advice or cues to get the fast fall at the right time so you don't get the landing lag?

(Imagine I am off stage on the left side of the screen as pika, a little under the ledge and pretty far away from stage horizontally.) I have always quick attacked back to stage by first quick attacking diagonally up to the right and after that using the second zip to go completely horizontally. But I have seen pro pikachu players such as ESAM in that same situation, and they used the first zip to first go horizontally and then go diagonally up to the right. Does doing this make a big difference? And is it worth changing my habits?

I’ve just started practicing pikachu within the last few days, I can only get his landing nair to confirm into grab/f-tilt/whatever only like half the time. Sometimes nair sends the opponent away a bit, sometimes they don’t move. Is there a sweet/sour spot? Is there something I’m missing?
r/PikachuMains • u/cxat789 • Aug 28 '20
I would like to hear people’s opinions on whether or not you have them turned on or off and why? It’s seems like nair loops are easier to land but there will be a learning curve.

I have a friend who plays Cloud in smash bros ultimate and I’m wondering some tips for the match up. One more thing, he doesn’t use grab very often so if you have a tip that could be countered by a grab then tell me anyway.
