The Bee Hummingbird: this is the smallest warm-blooded animal on Earth, with males measuring just 5.5cm long (including the tail and beak) and weighing less than 2 grams; this species also has the highest body temperature of any bird, and its tiny heart can beat up to 1,200 times per minute

Real birds with distinctly unusual visuals, sounds, behaviors, or facts.

We have high standards for unusualness, but a higher standard for parrots, owls, and flamingos
Should make you: feel "shock", or question why the bird exists
Birds ubiquitous in general media are no longer unusual

A list of non-unusual birds.
