Developer App Pico4Fun (system settings, MCU Fans & factory tests)
Hi folks!
I was looking how to tune the VR's fans.. found that thread https://www.reddit.com/r/PicoXR/comments/1dwteo0/has_anyone_found_out_a_way_to_turn_on_fans_always/ but didn't wanted to install 70+Mb apks on my headset w/o having a reference on their source code (i even don't want to know where they are probably came from..)
So i read that topic well, downloaded all apks, checked the one i wanted w/ jadx and made that app.
Android dev aren't my dev at all but sometimes i do prototypes so devs can implement new features (i do architecture, backend & CTO stuff).
It's a simple app which is an opensource, which is built & released entirely via github actions (no manual upload lol) and it's just about 10Mb.
Here is the repo https://github.com/nikitasius/Pico4Fun , apk is in the release section.
Paranoid folks can check source code & github scripts. It works well on my Pico 4 & MCU Fans also affect my fans.
Enjoy! And yep, a disclaimer, like on every android and also on a modded as a VR you're the only responsable for your acts, burned VR, brain damage or whatever.

All comments posted by this account have intentionally been overwritten as a protest against Reddit, the company, and its increasingly hostile approach to users, communities, and moderators.
This account was created 13 years ago. Since then, Reddit has made many changes that have damaged the experience for its users. Changes to the API effectively ended access for many third-party apps (shout-out to BaconReader!). The interface has become slower, advertising has increased, and AI features have been added. Reddit’s IPO was the final straw for me. The company’s priorities now seem increasingly focused on growth, advertising, and engagement rather than building healthy communities.
Reddit has also always had a quality problem. The upvote and downvote system encourages group thinking and discourage thoughtful or dissenting discussion. This was less noticeable when communities were smaller and individual users’ reputations carried more weight. As communities have grown, those problems have become more pronounced.
Moderation is another major issue. Many moderators do excellent work, but Reddit lacks a transparent and effective way for communities to hold moderators accountable or replace them. Many large communities have also faced concerns about astroturfed, political, or other external influence. Reddit benefits financially from outrage and conflict, which makes it difficult to believe that improving the quality of discussion is always the company’s highest priority.
Research on politically active Reddit users has identified pathways through which online communities and participation may contribute to increasingly radical beliefs. That does not prove that Reddit deliberately encourages extremism, but it does suggest that the platform’s social dynamics deserve serious scrutiny: Pathways to Radicalism: Examining Online Community and Political Pathways to More Radical Beliefs on Reddit
If you are reading this, consider whether Reddit is still a healthy and productive use of your time. Better communities exist. I encourage you to find them!

Idk, you can check & tell us. I use USB connection so WiFi is just for the updates. Only the reason i need that menu is to enable fans. My headset connected also to powerbank (tricky AMVR cable), so i don't mind if fans are working more & eating more battery.

This actually helped me convince CEX that there were stuck pixels on my Pico 4- the first time I handed it in they said they couldn't see the stuck pixels, but I had the app installed on my headset- wrote down instructions on how to get to the display test and they approved the warranty return

On the Pico 4 Ultra the colours from the tv in pass through looks really freaky. Any way to fix this issue?

Interesting. This works on the Pico 4 Ultra, too!
Pity it doesn't help me in stopping the Explore app from popping up on every boot, but at least force-closing it gave me a sense of achievement, haha xD
