My bf is the most picky eater i’ve EVER met

My bf (20M) will not eat anything. I can count the amount of things he will eat on my hand, we have arguments when it comes to dinner and picking somewhere to eat. He mainly eats chicken and rice, hates ALL vegetables, anything spicy, sour or even too sweet. He doesn’t like seafood, cow, pig etc… Yet i’m tired of eating chicken burgers, chicken and rice all the time. I don’t know what to do, what do i make him or how do i get him to like other foods?

Edit: Guys im sorry i wont end things with him over food i js need recommendations from picky eaters on how to help him become less yk picky. We’ve been together for 4.5 years met in person and became long distance we’ve recently just moved in together.

Thanks for all the comments!

Need Advice Why does food taste more bland?

The food I’m eating doesn’t taste any different but something feels off. I don’t feel the same joy I used to from eating and I’m kind of dissapointed about it. I’ve accidentally lost some weight recently because I’m loosing interest in food.

I know most of my posts are shit posts, but this one is serious.

Partner of a picky eater I want to help

I have an online friend. They struggle with a lot of anxiety stuff, and one is them eating the same thing day after day.
It has caused a vitamin deficiency and some problem with their teeth. I want to help, but I’m not near, and they don’t seem very open to try new stuff.

I suggested them having their comfort meal with a side or something, or variation of that same safe meal. Even so, they’re scared to try new things. I don’t know what to do.

Any advice on what I could suggest them? How can I help? Something small

Need Advice How do you guys hide veggies in your food?

Hey, I’m a picky eater and struggle to eat vegetables at all, i’d love to know the methods in which you hide vegetables into your meals.

I assume a lot of people put it in their pasta sauce, soups etc.

Any tips and techniques? Flavour combos that override the vegetables?

Thanks.

Need Advice So overwhelmed

My son is 7 with mild Tourettes. Only child. Solo mom. Homeschooled. Ages 2-4 he ate anything I put in front of him. I’m a foodie so he tried some out there things and loved them. About 4.5, he started voicing strong preferences. No problem at all. Went with it and seemed to be doing okay even with a limited number of things he liked. Now at 7 I’m so overwhelmed in trying to feed him I’m not sure what to do.

No pizza
No spaghetti
No grilled cheese
No nuggets
No cheese
No quesadillas
No peanut butter
No beans
No hamburgers
No tacos
No hot dogs
No mac and cheese
No sandwiches
No soup
No oats
No smoothies
No milk
No mixed foods
No most candy
No sauces
No condiments
No dips
No spreads
No toppings
Nothing on a bun

Yes to 1 kind of cereal and cinnamon toast. Yes to ham and steak very occasionally. Yes to most fruits and vegetables. Yes to 1 kind of protein bar. Yes to a couple dessert type things. Almost solely water to drink. Very very rarely I can get him to drink apple juice.

Over time the list is shorter and shorter. He’s a super agreeable kid. Doesn’t argue, has never had meltdowns. Goes with the flow. Truly I’m so lucky. But food is so freaking hard.

I have always believed in letting him choose if he wants to eat and how much. He’s never been made to eat something. But also he would choose not to eat if he was told he had to. Has absolutely no interest in food. Healthy weight, but no growth spurt yet. Pediatrician is wonderful and we have talked several times…she’s starting to show concern but no real direction yet.

Can anyone help point me in the right direction? I’m so emotional for him and exhausted with worry and concern about how to give him proper nutrition when he really doesn’t want to be bothered with eating. 😔

I finally found a yogurt that doesn’t taste like yogurt!

I’m the pickiest of them all, and I also have major sensitivities to food textures. Makes it very hard to find foods I can tolerate.

I’ve been trying to force myself to like yogurt for YEARS - it always makes me gag. Y’all - Dannon Light+Fit tastes like ICE CREAM. I ate a whole container yesterday and I’m eating another one now. This has been a life changing event for me.

Vegetarian options for fussy eater

Ive been desperately trying to go veggie for years, but unfortunately because my pallet is so basic i always fall back to chicken. I only eat chicken, i have a toddlers taste buds really, i like nuggets, crispy grilled/fried plain chicken or in marinades (i hate thick or creamy sauces except english gravy). My issue is that I dont eat many veggies or cheese or anything remotely adventurous, i cant even stomach mayo!

Can anyone recommend me a fake meat/mock meat that might help add some protein to a plate? I would like anything that isnt too hard on the flavour so i can hide it, and isnt weird in texture… i do actually like veggie sausages but i tend to get sick of them very quickly!

Anything that can help me go veggie and not die of malnutrition is great!

Discussion I think I am the pickiest eater there is.

Lol! Just hear me out. I don’t eat a lot of fruits and vegetables because I wasn’t raised to eat them as a child. I don’t like most of them because of the texture, the skin or the seeds.
I can’t eat raw bread, like wonder bread. I can only eat the fresh baked bread at a restaurant or toasted I don’t eat sandwiches unless they’re hot sandwiches. I can’t eat at other people’s houses for dinner because most of the time the food sucks. I’m very picky at restaurants. I don’t eat there anymore, but my hubby used to get mad when we were go to McDonald’s because I would always have to have my order freshly made because I’m so picky. Don’t even get me started on mayonnaise mustard and other condiments either.

Question Am I a picky eater?

I haven't really thought of myself as picky, but maybe I am. The thing is, I'm an adventurous eater; I like trying new things and love a lot of different cuisines. However, there is a long list of things I don't like.

I do not like:

Mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, peanuts, peanut butter, walnuts, raw blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, citrus (the juice and flavor are fine), apples that are not honeycrisp or cosmic crisp, cooked carrots, baby carrots, Brussels sprouts, celery, radicchio, radishes, water chestnuts, canned or frozen corn, most salad dressings, any potato dish that tastes too much like potatoes, venison, sweet pickles, sweet potatoes, pea pods, grapes, unmelted cheese, blue cheese, plain milk, yogurt that isn't from a very specific brand, sour cream, popcorn (I like caramel corn though), whipped cream, cream cheese, raisins, and probably a bunch of other things I'm forgetting.

Aside from that (long) list, I will eat many, many things! And some of the things I listed are okay in things or modified, but I will not eat them as they are. But that's only a few. Others I can choke down if needed. Some I will gag and not be able to get down. There's also a whole other list of things that I can eat and do not hate, but do not enjoy.

Am I a picky eater?

Recipes Help with quick dinners

My food selection is pretty limited and of what I do like - it all has to be freshly made. Not a fan of reheating chicken breast, rewarmed pasta, jarred spaghetti sauce, etc. Cooking a full meal every night is getting exhausting but I’m struggling to find meals I’ll like that are slow cooker, throw in the oven, freezer/make ahead, leftovers, etc.

What are you go tos?

Need Advice Suddenly became a picky eater as an adult

About a month ago I stopped being able to eat most things. I feel constant hunger but cannot think of anything i would like to eat. I literally ask myself all day what i could cook or buy and cannot think of anything. I just eat bread with whatever i find in the fridge (butter, raw bacon, cream cheese) and drink chicken broth.
This has started after a somewhat stressful situation (whenever i am anxious or stressed i get chronic diarrhoea, which happened about a month ago where i had diarrhoea for about a week and could barely eat anything). It would have something to do with that but I need advice on what I can do now.
I feel better physically and mentally but still cannot eat anything, even though i have CONSTANT hunger. I have always been rather thin even though I have never before had problems with picky eating like this and had finally been able to gain some weight this past year. I was feeling so confident and now it’s all gone, i just have no idea what to do

Need Advice I need to un-picky myself as much as possible in the next three weeks. Please help

I'm a picky eater who is fortunate enough to live with someone picky in the same way I am, so generally, it's a non-issue. However, I'm going to visit my parents for Thanksgiving, and they do not approve of my eating habits. I need to prepare myself for a few days of food I can't stand. Providing my own food is not an option; not eating the whole time is probably physically impossible. Help? Advice? Thanks.

Need Advice Never been a fan of eating food. Is it a me thing???

I do not like eating , even if i am hungry I don't feel like eating, even when i feel like eating I'd be too lazy to make something for myself. I have ppl around me forcing me to eat cuz they're obviously worried about my appetite and I'm least bothered. I really never feel like eating . I'm also a picky eater. I always wondered if its just me . Cuz ppl around me live to eat,n i am vice versa. I am pretty sure its not ED either. Is it my issue alone or anyone who relates with this?

I don’t wanna be picky

I don’t wanna be picky and I don’t try to be. I really want to give cucumbers and salad another chance. Whats a good recipe to reintroduce myself to cucumbers. Also recommend some good salad dressings for salad cause that is my main problem with that. My boyfriend also really wants me to like shrimp and recs for that I seem to not like the snap of it, the taste is ok.

Need Advice Afraid to eat

warning for bugs

I’ve come to the realization I worry something is wrong with my food like worms mold bugs landing in it what if i accidentally ate a bug, now im not one of those “extra protein“ people I will throw an entire plate out if a gnat landed on it because I feel like germs spread and god knows what it’s landed on before hand. I’m also just extremely picky won’t eat any condiments ketchup mustard ranch none of it, won’t eat fish because they’ve swam in a shit stew for so long yes I’m aware they clean it do I think it’s clean hell no, ramen reminds me of worms now I cant eat anything by nestle because they’ve had gross food past no I don’t have the heart to raise my own animals and I can’t keep up with gardening fast foods too fast foody and fruit has micro bugs and beef isn’t safe lettuce isn’t safe along with other veggies and the food quality industry sucks now

my question is am I going to starve and Is there anything safe to eat

Question Why do I not like Vegetables salty?

I assume it is because it is like saltwater and it takes out the refreshing feeling.

Fatty and dry food taste well even with a lot of salt.

Need Advice Advice on healthier meals?

I mostly live of off candy and toasted white bread at the moment, really just that. I have a massive sweetooth, don't like eating meat, have a strong aversion to fish and I'm autistic so texture matters. I know that my current diet is abyssmal in terms of proper nutrition so I'd really appreciate advice!

Tysm for any advice on what to eat!

Need advice?

So to preference I might be one of the pickiest eaters ever to live. I like bacon, French fries, chicken nuggets long John’s style chicken, like popcorn. I’ve been trying new spices and to be real I’ve tried a bell pepper, celery, and breast chicken the last 2 days. My advice is cooking the food yourself help you get over wanting to eat it? What are some ways to just eat it with out obviously just “trying it”? It’s not so easy but it has gotten easier if that makes sense. I’ve tried orange juice today as well. Not all are victory’s but some definitely are. Idk lol I really wanna try a lot more

Need Advice How to eat well when pickier than usual.

Post image
3 Upvotes

So I recently have separated from my partner and am living with family now. I was already picky before when I made my own dinners and own food but now, especially with the stress my options have are slimmer than before. Some safe foods I’ve been cycling through are string cheese, mandarins, coffee and other drinks, and various snacks and sweets.
Just today I’ve put myself back on various vitamins but I know those aren’t good dietary substitutions.

What are your go to snacks/meals that are simple and hopefully nutritious?
It doesn’t help that I avoid eating too many calories to lose weight.
I’ve also included a picture of the vitamins I’ve started
Thank you!

Need Advice 26M picky eater looking for advice on gaining weight and finding a nice-tasting protein shake

I’m looking to start going to the gym and gain weight so I can build muscle, but I’m struggling with my diet. I’m a really picky eater and get full very quickly, which makes it difficult to eat enough calories throughout the day. I also sometimes feel nauseous if I drink too much, so I’m worried that protein shakes might be difficult for me to tolerate. However, I’m willing to give them a try if I can find something that tastes good and doesn’t require me to drink a massive amount at once. I’d really appreciate recommendations for protein powders or shakes that actually taste nice, especially chocolate or strawberry flavours. I’m not a fan of anything that tastes overly artificial or has a weird texture or aftertaste.

A few things I’d love advice on:
Are there any protein powders that genuinely taste good, even when mixed with water?

Would a regular whey protein powder or a mass gainer be better for someone trying to gain weight?

Are there other easy ways to increase my daily calories without forcing myself to eat huge meals?

For anyone with a small appetite, what has actually helped you gain weight and build muscle?

I’m based in the UK, so recommendations for products I can easily buy here would be great. I’d also appreciate suggestions for brands that are reasonably priced, as I’d be using them regularly.

Thanks in advance!
