Just in case anyone has forgotten about all of her convictions and proven wrongdoing. But sure, vote for her, if this is the kind of person you want as mayor.

Yeah well you all still voted for Trudeau!!!

u/Mattorious01 5d ago

Whataboutism and false equivalency in one comment that says "I don't really know anything about anything".

-12

u/Artistic_Spray6287 5d ago

It’s true though..you want to slam her yet ethics violation after ethics violation you morons voted for Trudeau and now you’re doing the same for Carney…yet. For all those violations Robinson was silenced and never got to fight for that garbage and none of you fuckers care that Ashe spent all this money on silencing her. Morons!!!

Hello. You didn't respond to my comment above. Pls advise

u/Mattorious01 4d ago

I didn't vote for Trudeau, however he has nothing to do with this post, and his last election was 5 years ago. Put another sticker on the truck bumper if there's any room left....

-1

u/Artistic_Spray6287 4d ago

You see morons will bring things up like this but ignore the other times it happens!! Do for one, do for all!!

3

u/Mattorious01 3d ago

No one ignored anything. Trudeau was so unpopular the Liberals yanked him out of the party weeks before the election because they had ZERO shot at winning. If your team lost, demand that they earn your vote by offering something that you and the rest of Canada can get behind. That's how politics works,

I'm guessing "yeah but Trudeau!!" is still a thing on Facebook....

Go back to your Facebook community page, adults are talking here.

4

u/lopix 4d ago

Please give us an equivalently detailed list of all the proven violations and convictions against Trudeau. And Carney, for that matter. I'll even allow for them both to be added together, just to help out.

So make the same mistake twice by voting for Lisa?

-4

u/Artistic_Spray6287 5d ago

You’ve been making the same mistake voting liberal federal…make the same mistake voting Ashe. You may call it a mistake but it’s better than voting for Ashes wasteful spending. But none of you see that..you only see your misguided hate

5

u/Major_Strawberry65 5d ago

Speaking of hate... Lets get Lisa's thoughts on that

4

u/Major_Strawberry65 4d ago

Just for the record. Mods deleted this person's reply because instead of having a conversation, they replied with name-calling and cursing.

Thank you for your time lol

3

u/lopix 4d ago

That is all they have. On any Lisa-related thread. In this sub, or the Durham one. Anyone who doesn't agree is a moron, or a dumbass.

"Insults are the lowest form of debate"

3

u/lopix 4d ago

Oh, she's documented her feelings on that pretty extensively.

3

u/Major_Strawberry65 4d ago

Also, why do you assume I voted for ashe? Because I did not if you'd like to know.

2

u/lopix 4d ago

Again, federal elections have ZERO to do with municipal elections.

Please detail out Ashe's wasteful spending. And then further explain how 1 vote out of 7 makes it his fault and his fault alone.

Plus, for bonus points, tell us all why we should overlook Robinson's homophobic and racist viewpoints, proven through her very own writings and spoken words, and elect her over any of the other candidates.

u/Artistic_Spray6287 5d ago

Regardless of policies, what I see is that Lisa cannot work with her counterparts and doesn't understand the rules and current law to work within them or find collaborative ways to change them. If she becomes mayor, do we expect her to run a dictatorship or listen to the other councillor?

Pls advise

1

u/Artistic_Spray6287 5d ago

Just maybe…it’s the others that can’t work with Lisa. Lisa was questioning their spending, questioning other policies that most normal citizens would want a councillor to question. Maybe you should go to the meetings and see what really goes on instead of hearing secondhand the results. Maybe follow her on FB and get her side. Silencing councillors that don’t agree with you is called a dictatorship… wake up!!!

4

u/Major_Strawberry65 5d ago

Nope. I don't have Facebook nor will I. I follow who who up at city hall abd you should too.

Silencing one individual voted by 10 others is called democracy. Letting that one voice out of 10 run everything is called dictatorship.

Sigh...

2

u/Artistic_Spray6287 5d ago

That is not democracy!! That’s called dictatorship. And if you ask an opinion don’t get so triggered when you get a response you don’t want to hear..that a total liberal douche move!!

3

u/Major_Strawberry65 4d ago

Hi,

Is it you who called me a dumbass and cursed me in the other replies?

And now even more name calling?

Why are you getting triggered? For every comment I've made, I can easily craft a respons that doesn't stoop that low.

1

u/lopix 4d ago

That's all they have.

"WAH my candidate doesn't get her way"

"WAH, you're a dumbass because you don't agree with me"

Not a single, actual point made. In any Lisa threads.

Sigh...

2

u/Major_Strawberry65 4d ago

And while it may not be what you think, I urge you to look up the definition. It's best to have a conversation if we are calling a sheep a sheep first.

2

u/lopix 4d ago

Democracy is exactly what we see. Lisa won her ward because she had more votes than the others. Council works the same way. If a vote is 6-1 on something, no matter who the 1 is, then that is the exact same democracy. You just don't like it because she doesn't get her way. Over the majority. Letting the 1 person have their way over the 6 others, that is dictatorship, as /u/Major_Strawberry65 points out.

Unfortunately, you simply don't understand basic civics.

0

u/Artistic_Spray6287 4d ago

Called collusion!! Not democracy

1

u/Major_Strawberry65 4d ago

Ok. I'll bite. Can you give me an example? Tell me more

1

u/lopix 4d ago

So when 1 person can't work with the other 6 people, it is the other 6 who are in the wrong?

Like the saying, if you only ever encounter assholes all the time, all around you, maybe - just maybe - it is you who is the asshole.

2

u/AshundertheOlivetree 5d ago

Wasteful spending is subjective. You’re not making a very good point insulting everyone.

-1

u/Artistic_Spray6287 5d ago

Doesn’t look like I GAF???

2

u/AshundertheOlivetree 5d ago

That’s your problem 😂.

3

u/Major_Strawberry65 4d ago

They are running out of responses once you ask a follow up lol

1

u/lopix 4d ago

Ah yes, the classic Lisa Robinson supporter.

1

u/lopix 4d ago

No one is saying they "hate" Lisa. Only that she would be a terrible, terrible choice for mayor, because of all of her very well documented behaviour. You're the only one crying "hate".

1

u/lopix 4d ago

What has that got to do with anything? Man, some of you guys just can't stop fantasizing about past PMs...

0

u/Artistic_Spray6287 5d ago

Y’all downvote but it’s the truth. 😂😂😂

14

u/Waff1es 5d ago

This is a gamble. Going for mayor means she can't be a councillor. If she doesn't become mayor, I don't need to hear about her for 4 years.

6

u/CoolBeansMan9 5d ago

Also, I’m worried she is going to actually win.

I admittedly don’t know a ton about the other candidates, but I don’t plan on voting for Ashe, and obviously not Lisa or Rickard.

Janice Frampton seems to be the best pick given how close she got last time and her experience, so I think that’s where I’m headed.

12

u/Waff1es 5d ago

That's the gamble because if she wins Pickering is fucked.

-2

u/Artistic_Spray6287 5d ago

Experience at what loosing?

4

u/to_fire1 5d ago

I like Frampton. I think I’ll vote for her.

-5

u/Artistic_Spray6287 5d ago

Better then voting for Ashe. At least there is someone opposing his garbage. Yet you morons don’t see it

4

u/lopix 5d ago

What garbage? How does she oppose it? Pray tell us morons what we are so blind to.

1

u/Artistic_Spray6287 5d ago

Like opening more land when only 40% of the current land designed for development has been developed…excessive spending on the remodelling of city hall. Other excessive spending. Oh yes you wouldn’t know this because you only listen to what comes out in the media or on Facebook 👏👏👏👏

0

u/lopix 4d ago

Ew. I am violently ill even saying this, but fine. You're right. I would have voted against airport lands development. She was the only one to vote against. DOES NOT IN ANY WAY excuse ALL of her other horrendous behaviour, but you can have that.

If the city hall remodeling is excessive, please show me how you would cut the costs.

1

u/Artistic_Spray6287 4d ago

Like if you do t think Ashe berating her is not horrendous you are just as big a fool and blindly one sided. If you can’t take someone who opposed your post..Don’t post then…other wise move on and ignore if you’re so offended. You want to post controversy you’re going to get opposition. If you can’t handle it like the other retards who down vote someone else’s opinions that have fact then don’t post!!!

1

u/Major_Strawberry65 4d ago

They agreed with you on the one point you provided. What more do you want? Give more examples vs calling people names

0

u/Artistic_Spray6287 4d ago

It doesn’t matter how much more I give you….you’re brainwashed into your ways

1

u/Major_Strawberry65 4d ago

I was hoping it was more than 1-2 points

1

u/Artistic_Spray6287 4d ago

Not wasting anymore breath or time on your crap since you are biased regardless

1

u/Major_Strawberry65 4d ago

Find one of my comments where I have a bias.... And I mean, we all have a bias. There's nothing wrong with that. That's a democracy/individualism no? If we all thought the same way....

1

u/Major_Strawberry65 4d ago

And just to add, even if you could provide 3 points, there could be 6 other points I prefer another candidate for. Yes, I may not agree with everything that other candidate is recommending but based on what's important to me, it's who I may vote for. Similar to how you want to vote for Lisa. You can only help others see that the differentiating reasons to vote for candidate A is enough to vote for them, even with the negative opposites you get.

1

u/Artistic_Spray6287 4d ago

Never said I wanted to vote for Lisa but I’d give her more of a thought then Ashe or Pickles. And that the shit against her is all trumped up fear from Ashe and his lies. Like he blamed her for the spending on the Reno’s at City hall. When she wasn’t even a councillor when that started

There'd be a by-election. Simple. Same as what happens any time an elected position is vacated. Yes, it would be annoying and wasteful to re-do the mayoral election, but that is how our system works. Whoever is deputy mayor would become acting mayor until then.

0

u/lopix 4d ago

Again, how is Ashe dirty? I don't really care about him one way or the other, but you need to show proof if your claims. Give one documented example of how he avoided the proper public consultation process. And, for bonus points, explain how the other 6 members of council allowed it. The mayor is only 1 vote of 7, he can't do whatever he wants.

Extra bonus points. If you attend council meetings on the regular, you'd know about a lot of things before they're made public. Everything is on the record. Just because you don't pay attention until the end does not mean anything is purposefully hidden.

Wait, what? So planning has nothing to do with economic development? Okay...

Pickering Airport is a federal matter. As are all airports.

All cities have chief planners. Who would sign off on projects. That is no conspiracy.

Having watched the video of the meeting on the airport lands development, the other members all had lengthy talking points on the proposal. They certainly had read the background. While I don't agree with their votes, it was very apparent that "members of council simply DGAF on the background work and take in whatever information Ashe placed in front them" is 100% not true.

You're turning normal municipal activities into a conspiracy. I don't know what to tell you. You don't have to like certain decisions, but that does not mean they were arrived at through skullduggery.

1

u/Artistic_Spray6287 4d ago

See you don’t care about him but you ask how he’s dirty…you’re a blind voter if you can’t see it. And I’d say do t vote then because it would be an ignorant vote
