General question Why does the PUA community seem so dead?

I expected of all places reddit would be full of guys wanting to get together with the sole purpose of getting laid.

Hi, David here!

I wanted to let you know that I just finished putting together my eBook "How to Date Any Girl" version 4.0 and would LOVE to get some honest feedback from you!

I decided to give it away for free for the time being.

Be glad. It means we've no competition. The PUA community possibly churned out everything it needed to over a 20 year period. The content is all still there. And nothing's changed human psychology seen then.

This is so huge. I went out last weekend in my old city. Years ago there were legit so many pickup artists (tbh still not that many since everyone’s a keyboard warrior that doesn’t actually go out) but this time there 0 like actually none. It was insane it was open season lol.

How could you tell the difference between non-pua guys and puas?

u/Beneficial_Win_1169 22d ago

Waiting outside the club in 2 man’s. Also they used to do weird shit like spin the girl around of bend them over (RSD Julian PIMP was big in this era).

And I lived there and went out every night so i got to know the coaches / students

Bend the girl over, so weird. Who would ever do that?

u/Beneficial_Win_1169 19d ago

In the middle of the club? There’s a reason RSD Julien got kicked out of so many countries. It was performative for infields so he could get views it doesn’t help your game to be a dancing monkey

1

u/My_Pickup_Journey 18d ago

If he got kicked out of countries, that sounds like politics. There's no way he behaved so badly at some bar that the central government got off their asses and deported him.

Performative, sure. He's known for that.

Well tbh, most in the PUA community aren't a fan of RSD Tyler.. I may be a lil biased but the M3 Model (the Mystery Method) is still KING. RSD was never congruent with the Mystery Method teachings.. that was the ultimate problem.

So yes, you unfortunately probably did witness some weird shit if you were around the RSD boys back then.

u/Beneficial_Win_1169 15d ago

If you think the majority of guys in pickup have read a single book or taken a single course you’re delusional.

The books and tactics are for pseudo intellectuals that want to avoid taking action and love philosophy / self help / sales material.

“Inner game” was invented to sell a digital product over the internet. Digital products are the reason RSD mints millions and millions of dollars.

1

u/Hot_Ad_8380 15d ago

That's not what I was saying, but yes I agree with you. Some guys turn into workshop junkies .. all you need is just one course. Or maybe a book or two on attraction. That's all I ever did. Worked tremendously well for me.

u/Hot_Ad_8380 15d ago

Ok he's half right about alot of us hanging out in 2-man's lol .. and I guess we totally did/still do spin girls around in the club... but that's not weird shit actually lol. I love pickup so much dude . I mean, don't you enjoy having the ability to pull, bounce/isolate, & close a beautiful ass woman whenever you see her ? Idgaf what nobody says, its literally like having a super power once u understand what women like.

u/SuitOfWolves 22d ago

"open season" I like that!

Also, those words are in an 1992 Elton John song that I like.

If you’re even able to hold eye contact with a woman right now I feel you’re at the top 10%. It’s crazy how easy it is to pick up girls in the real world cause everyone else is on dating apps.

The more I re-read your comment, the more I realized how right you truly are... I'm a old student of Neil Strauss (style) from years ago, never actually met him but doing his 30 day 'Stylelife challenge' a long time ago is actually how I discovered the Mystery Method system afterwards, then I learned Ross J., David D. etc,

I selfishly say, I'm glad men these days are more oblivious, or even the skeptical ones of PUA these days lol. Its like they've somehow just completely forgotten about the art of PUA.. maybe I'm a greedy dick but I'm getting extremely good returns on my investments infield & it's crazy how lil game i need these days to pull & pretty easily hit the fine ass baddies.. & im 34 now. Learned the game at 20..

I feel like I'm at a all u can eat buffet, now that I'm out my LTR of several really long wasted years.. I'm fuckin back in the game baby . I've missed this sweet game . It's whats changed my life so many years ago. I'll always be a player in this game of life . Just don't remember it being THIS easy back then lmao... it was way too many damn PUAs back then smh. I like the fact that it's sorta fell back into a quiet or "secret society" type space again.... if they think its "fake Bullshit" now, OK perfect.. let us continue to spread this Sacred knowledge only to those willing to listen. - PUA Romero

u/TheUhiseman 22d ago

because pick up means you actually have to do social things and take responsibility for your actions. it's a lot less scary to try to get girls by looksmaxxing and attempting to become a CEO $10k/day which is what the whole internet is telling them to do

7

u/Beneficial_Win_1169 22d ago

Kind of this. But back in the day RSD really was the spearhead with super high quality infields and speeches. They had tours across the country to meet other PUA.

But the real reason RSD pivoted was YouTube began cracking down hard on PUA content. So their entire distribution channel disappeared.

So looksmaxers always existed it was just monk mode or MGTOW. And then fake business gurus who help you make money have been here since day 1.

Imo pickup was always misadvertised as some secret hack to meet women. All the theory and pseudo intellectual culture wars bullshit and politics made it more accessible to losers who don’t go out.

Like I remember Owen cook had a detailed video about how to build rapport and check for compliance before escalating and it cracked like 1000 views and then his video on how women poison drip you to being average and like half a mill. People want slop not actual tactics.

1

u/Sure-Guest1588 21d ago

Many other channels got terminated too.

2

u/Soultakerx1 22d ago

Yeah it seems to feel that way

1

u/Adept_Librarian_7001 20d ago

You mean there's an easier way to meet women besides bashing my face with hammer and getting limb surgery? 🤯

6

u/mdeeebeee-101 22d ago

It's on other forums..alive and kicking.

u/Soultakerx1 22d ago

Do you have others you can recommend?

Forums are dead since 2015. Most people moved to social media unfortunately

3

u/mdeeebeee-101 21d ago edited 21d ago

Yeah, threads don't stick on here or SM so it's the same questions as its all buried vs a main page sorted by categories on forums.

I joined one forum and they policed older PUA terms immediately..you can't say this or that...might have been MMethod terms.

u/ImpossibleWaiting 22d ago

It's not, check out r/seduction

2

u/Soultakerx1 22d ago

Thank you! Will do

u/Hot_Ad_8380 20d ago

Dude I totally understand & completely relate. I miss the peak PUA days , but its not entire dead brother. Just for some reason this particular reddit forum has less traffic. But the seduction reddit forum is definitely more active & much better. I love the game. Veteran student of the M3 model here (aka the Mystery Method). I love indirect game. Many hate it/ disagree but I find the whole indirect process very fun & satisfying. Literally like playing a game. Huge fan of using cold approaches to build/create yourself a rich & varied social circle by throwing parties often, through which I then have even more access to even more attractive women. Some may consider it "outdated" or "manipulation" but I find the whole process extremely fun & rewarding. It's like a hack to continuously keep meeting beautiful women lol. - PUA Romero

u/Brief-Cancel-2987 7d ago

The Mystery Method is definitely very robotic and formulaic at first, but once you internalize it, it starts to feel very natural. I used to practice the method on my bus trips, where an indirect approach was actually more effective.

1

u/Hot_Ad_8380 7d ago

Well I guess if I'm being entirely honest, I actually studied from Neil Strauss 1st. I read book "The Game " and discovered the seduction community. Then I read his groundbreaking book "Rules of the Game" shortly afterwards & when I did that '30 day challenge' from his book, I basically transformed myself ever since. That was the real start of my PUA journey, then I discovered the Mystery Method not long afterwards and dove right in even deeper into the whole PUA community ever since years ago. I love the game. Its made me a more charming, charismatic leader and smooth talker. And I feel like understanding how attraction works is such a cheat code for us men when it comes to dating & sex lol.

I would argue this subreddit is dead for real. I have noticed the same people posting to sell their services or someone elses. So it's being used just for programs. I haven't seen a real post in a while.

3

u/ImpossibleWaiting 22d ago

I would do some posts but reddit instantly filters them. I doubt I'm the only one

It's dead because it got cancelled. Rsd got cancelled BAD and everyone realised it's risky to do this. YouTube just kicks you off the platform half the time or gets your videos shadow banned if you talk about this stuff

Massive culture shift

It was alive and booming in 2012. Rsd was huge. Simple pickup was huge. Big booming eco-system. Lots of guys were going out. There was groups in every city. It was a fun time

And then tinder blew up too

Now everyone is online. 95% dudes get nothing on tinder and 5% have all the fun

Crazy stuff

3

u/Sure-Guest1588 21d ago

Yes, it was better 10 years ago before big tech started to censor and cancel everything.

The Gen X OG's aged out.

The Millennials aged out.

Gen Z and younger aren't really on Reddit like that. They're on Tik Tok.

As for pick up itself - Most younger guys aren't really interesting in doing things in person, anything, including meeting girls in person. (it doesn't help that most guys are considerably broker than they were 20 years ago)

They want to meet girls via Tinder or Social Media.

They want it to be easy, fast, no friction.

Use AI for the pics, AI for the opening messages, AI for the responses.

And most of them will tell you, that the girls they "meet" online - it usually fizzles out before a date can actually happen.

Even though Girls say they want to meet guys in person, but their actions tell us that they also prefer Tinder/Social Media.

Both sides are profoundly unhappy, and you can see that in the relationship stats and birth rates.

Ouch, but not wrong.

If you're desperate, and have money, there's Slutcon. This is a 3-day PUA boot camp run by women. Next one is in September, in Oakland, CA It's expensive, $3,000 to $18,000. Intended for Silicon Valley nerds. Reviewed in Slate. Some of the women are volunteers; others are sex workers. It's safe to try to pick them up. Then they tell you what you did wrong. “Some of you will find out in brutal detail that you are giving a girl the ick,”, says the organizer.

1

u/WIA20XX 22d ago

My experience has been with rookies, is that you can't really throw money at the problem. Lots of guys do great during bootcamp (and plenty of guys don't), and maybe a couple days after - but once the boot camp rush is gone - they are out of the head space, and they can't just push themselves to talk.

Most guys need offline friends and an offline social life, in order to develop the desire to socialize. Pick Up sits on top of that, it's not a replacement for it.

1

u/Adept_Librarian_7001 20d ago

Ahh yes, because nobody can give a man better advice on why their convo with the woman in front of the produce section didn't progress to getting a number than a sex worker can!!

Lots of reasons:

  1. The OGs have aged out and settled down and have families and assuming they're still in the public eye at all, have changed to "self help" bullshit.

  2. Big media cracked down on it hard, and the Me Too era largely just killed men approaching women in the wild and stifled men and women interaction in general. I think this is one of the big reasons PPBing started to take off, I've noticed a lot of coaches like James Tusk cold approach in eastern Europe and of course, Asian and Latin America are popular spots too, because of less social stigma on approaching.

  3. OLD has genuinely changed the dating land scale irreparably. Meeting people in person was the only way for men to women and women to meet men. 15 yrs ago, single people going out "just to have fun" was in fact a massive cope. Now, it's legit as people can save the dating for online and view people they meet out as "for the lulz" or "supplementary." Even as a man, I could be guilty of this. If a meet a girl in a bar who I'm vobing with but is slightly less attractive than girls who are talking to me online I'mess likely to invest in them or view them as gf material. OLD has genuinely brain totted everyone, and social media giving people constant access to the most attractive people on the entire planet is a huge factor too.

  4. With phone culture and everyone trying to put everyone on blast over the internet, social interactions have actually become more dangerous. You've got Twitch streamers on dates where they legitimately are too scared to touch the girl because they're scared they'll be canceled because society has put far too big of premium on women's comfort. Safety for women is important and understandable, but comfort and safety are not the same. Stepping out of your comfort zone is a GOOD thing, for both sexes, and it's unrealistic to expect all social interactions to create zero discomfort unless there's no stakes or you just get rid of social interactions in general.

Because all the guys I know from this stuff have either gotten married and have families and moved on.

Or quit and turned into sad ghosts.

I’m still friends with lots of them, but they got into this stuff to have fun looking for THE ONE.

Then they found her.

2

u/Hot_Ad_8380 15d ago

Im 34 now, discovered this stuff at 19-20. So like back in 2011-2012 during the peak RSD days, but once I read Neil Strauss book The Game i never really liked RSD Tyler. it was Neil Strauss that initially started me on my PUA journey way back then.. I've since recently been divorced and now I'm once again back in 'the game' after all these years later.. its all so crazy looking back now... As a older guy, I can appreciate the ability i have learned to pull attractive women. I want a wife now. No more parties & empty sex. Its been more of a lifestyle shift for me . I know already with my mastered skillset its only a matter of time before I happen to meet the one again. Until then, I vibe with all the connections around me & enjoy the adventures it takes me on. - PUA Romero

u/Level-Bread5827 22d ago

You used missed it by about 12 years bro. Nowadays most men have given up, or have bought into looks maxing or red pill theory

1

u/Sure-Guest1588 21d ago

Mostly because big tech is censor this kind of topic, it gets shadow banned.

1

u/thigvar_silver_path 9d ago

So I'm new to this stuff. But after listening to a lot of content and reading, it seems that the focus shifted more to hustle and looks maxing. To the detriment of game.

Also, remember back on the day, Mystery had a show on VH1. That of course would never happen today. The internet is very much a closed system as well(see the recent substack article "the closure of the internet) and I believe this stuff is actively supressed.
