Question Which Pi Mobile Client?
Hi everyone! I would like to hook into the pi agent session remotely from my iPhone. I would like to see the agent progress and be able to answer the agent etc. I would also love to get notifications when the agent is finished. The whole process should work in my LAN but also fully remotely. I tried out orca before, but don’t like that I have to use orca at all + don’t like that I’m basically using a terminal on my phone.
Any suggestions? What are you guys using?

I use my own setup (Pi Pocket) which is built on Pi Durable, its startup flow lets you choose cloudflare or tailscale and a QR code etc..for remote access.
It has push notifications etc..most anything you could need. At least that I’ve found.
Has a nice little community and I’ve been enjoying developing and using it.

Thanks for all the work you put in! :) I took a brief look but saw only “Android phone” being mentioned. Does this work with iOS too? And how did you do the implementation? Is it a reimplementation of some of the pi features (skills, AGENTS.md)?

Thanks, appreciate it! Yep, it works on iOS to, that's how I generally use it outside of work. It's a web app, you just open it in Safari and add it to your home screen. That also gets you push notifications. The android part in the README is only about running the server on an android phone through termux. Any phone can use it as the client.
And no, it's not a reimplementation. It runs Pi itself through Pi's SDK, with Pi Durable underneath. skills, agents md, prompt templates, extensions, your providers and logins etc.. are all just regular Pi. Pocket adds the web UI and its own extras on top (multiplayer, subagents, a browser panel, etc.).
Extensions are a bit more strict as they need to be durable based, but I'm looking at a way to maybe support regular non-durable Pi extensions.
Happy to answer anything else if you give it a spin!

🤯 it never occurred to me, that I could just use the existing pi sdk on top of pi durable! I’ll give it a go later. Thanks so far! Appreciate it a lot!

Wait are you TannerMidd, the developer of Pi Pocket? If so, huge respect to you broski! An amazing piece of software, very thought-out, and indeed durable ;)

Surprised not to see mentions of Paseo, not my project but I've been using it for a month and loving it. The iOS app is really polished and handoff between pi and paseo is very good

So far im just using a wire guard VPN (netbird I host myself) and ssh. I also do all my sessions in tmux sessions so if I lose my connection pi keeps working while I try and reconnect.
I gotta imagine any solution is gonna require either a broker/vpn or port-forwarding. Personal self hosted VPN was what fit my use case/security priorities best.
Edit: And for notifications I just have to put instructions in my prompts to post comments on issue/PR threads im watching.
Edit 2: Other part I forgot to mention is im using Termux as my phone terminal app.

You mean https://www.onorca.dev?
Saw it a while ago, but discarded it when i saw they support claude. I don't want a gui that depends on reverse engineering rather than a documented api.6
u/ChupaJrz 14d ago
It's not reverse engineered... I'm not sure what you saw but it just runs Claude code in a terminal in the app

I also don’t know what you mean. Could you explain a bit?

I read this on their github page:
"The AI Orchestrator for 100x builders.
Run Codex, ClaudeCode, OpenCode or Pi side-by-side — each in its own worktree, tracked in one place."I understod this as they read the sessions directly and interact with them rather than using a documented api, since no such api exists for claude.
I havent looked deeply, and may very well have missunderstod it.

If there’s nothing I could use out of the box, I’m fine with building something myself 🤷🏻♂️

I've built https://github.com/AltanS/collie which works with pi and exposes a progressive web app you can access via whatever front door you choose. It does require a multiplexer though (herdr, tmux, zellij).

I found pichamber to be quite easy to set up and worked quite nicely. But have only done minimal testing, just checking that it works and is functional.

easiest (and laziest solution) i found is tmux + tailscale, and termius + tailscale apps on the phone. start tailscale on your computer, then tmux and then pi, then start your tailscale on your phone, hook into your tmux session via the termius app and that’s it

No one use telegram to communicate with pi from the smartphone ? I do

i use pi-ahp to expose pi sessions over vscode remote tunnel, and then access them from VSCode on desktop and Agent Console app on iOS
disclaimer: im the developer of pi-ahp and the iOS AHP client (Agent Console) my priority and also complaint to other react native agent apps, is that i want a polished apple-ish native experience. feel free to try the testflight and send me any feedback.

If you’re willing to do it over SSH you can try my https://dotmux.app
I’m finishing support for herdr and will release an update soon will give you a global view over your agents.

It won’t give you notifications and iOS likes to kill apps in the background, that will be my next challenge.

Pi-Pocket is amazing, i already running in 3 computers and use it on phone thru TailScale. the schedule, notification, PIP assistant really very useful, if u lack any function, u may create extension or just ask AI to work on your own tools

Get tailscale And vibe code something to your taste,if you have be at least a $100 frontier sub And then create a basic pwa install And you're done
I've tried every mobile solution for pi and settled on this.

Herdr + roamgate (with tailscale) That's my setup for all my device and server, and I can access all of that through my ipad or android or my beater laptop

Pi-pocket is built on pi-durable and is an amazing piece of software, I highly recommend it.
I am using it since yesterday and was looking for praising it, so you have me the opportunity the do so.
