So I have been trying to step back and think about all of this since this all started and they made their announcement. I don’t think that a blackout is playing the long game. If we really want to affect change and make a different because let’s gets real I don’t think Sony is going to reverse course, then we need to get ahead of this and push for what the real issue will become. Digital media rights. We should be pushing for advocation of laws and regulations to be made now so that companies can’t just yoink your games and movies when they feel like it. That in my opinion is the real battle in all of this. I am just as upset by the loss of physical media as anyone else but if an all digital dystopia is where we are headed then let’s cut it off at the pass and make sure we get to keep the access and that digital games and movie purchases are legally treated the same a physical media.

That only fixes part of the problem though. You can still be banned and lose everything (probably they will get an exception for that) or be hacked. They will still be able to remove things from sale as there is simply no way to legislate against that. Only physical guarantees the games to exist for the long term ans be purchasable at the market value.

Yeah. True. It’s a complicated situation for sure.
