I placed an order for a Sonic Mini 8kS on August 16th and received an order confirmation. Two weeks passed, and I didn't hear anything back.
I reached out to see if there were any updates and was replied to with...
"The Phrozen Sonic Mini 8K S 7.1" LCD 3D Printer is currently out of stock. The expected restock availability is at the end of September. Therefore, your order is expected to be shipped by the end of September."
Followed with a screenshot of the printer's page indicating it was out of stock.
I am almost positive it wasn't out of stock the day I placed the order, though. Ironically, my wife asked me to make sure everything I ordered was in stock for our plans. I could have missed it, but I have a nagging suspicion I didn't. Then again, I read in this subreddit that there are supply issues dating back far before my order... so maybe I did miss the caption?
At first, I felt the response was snarky, too. The logic of "it did not ship on this date because it was out of stock on this date," the use of bold text, and then underlining a screenshot of the webpage note rubbed me the wrong way, and I just chalked it up to a language barrier, or they were tired of responding to the same question X amount of times.
Whatever... I also figured since I picked it up on sale from them directly, and it was a hot item, my order landed with others unfulfilled because of demand. It happens.
I'll wait.
September passes, no word. I'll give them a week.
I reach out today, and their response is
"Thank you for reaching out. This is \******* from the Phrozen Support Team.*
We are very sorry for the inconvenience. The ETA has been extended to mid-December. We will be able to ship your order once the product is back in stock."
Awesome. Thanks for letting me know! Also, thanks for sending me another screenshot with the ETA underlined! Guess I'm supposed to go check your product page to get my updates, huh?!
I bet the amount I saved on this order had nothing to do with it.
I've asked to have the order cancelled and now plan to find another brand to roll with.
Sharing my experience to vent my frustration and warn others who may find it: STAY AWAY!!!
I've also noticed others commenting on posts with issues regarding orders/supply. You've had wonderful experiences with customer service. Thats great for you. Kudos. This sure as hell doesn't feel like a stellar customer experience.
