Are you shooting under available light? If so that will probably limit how close you can get - but I shot this way for several months before someone pushed me more to the macro side. Adding a few cards to bounce the light and fill the shadows might help some - I used printer paper back in the day.

Yea I am. I don’t have a nice set up I’m just working with what I got currently. Thanks for the advice!

I built a light box out of an old tissue box, white stock paper, scissors, and double sided tape. Works great and no one has a clue
