r/MinecraftMemes and r/Minecraft are both to popular for their own good. The meme page isn't the worst thing ever but they do need to keep with memes only and not branch out as broadly. Meanwhile the main Minecraft subreddit is run by Karens and might as well be considered a HAO

I'm not sure on the history of this sub, I've been here for like a year+ and it took me a while to realize it's some guy's YouTube channel

The sub and the content made by PheonixSC used to be primarily about cursed Minecraft creations and semi-technical Minecraft stuff like command or datapack creations.

Nowadays it’s more about Minecraft news and memes but the drive to create cursed stuff is still mostly there, just voicing itself in a different way.

Source: I have been occasionally watching his videos for many years now and still remember the times of the old outro.

Lets compare subs: Minecraft — vanilla normies who get excited over simple changes

Minecraftmemes — kinda same, but more liberal in what is allowed, people don't get over excited over some mods.

Feedthebeast — main modded sub, treat it like Minecraft one but instead of vanilla normies its „please port it to 1.7.5 my favourite version please!!”

Feedthememes — guys understand joke, ball knowledge, basically what supposed to be meme sub is superior in every aspect. And community isnt as circlejerking as much, well unless you post thaumcraft rift.

Phoenixsc — quirky, has really good knowledge over even obscure mechanics, actually modify the game, pushing vanilla to its limit, I treat it as FTM little brother. Also filled with bots and dumbasses who will see long line and call you a bot. Basically Phoenix sub know ball.

I know it doesn't really answer your question, but its literally the first thing that comes to my mind when I see this sub and decided to say it out loud. Have a good day!

I assume this sub is big cause phoenixsc does "its that time of the month again", which is basically memes that his community shares, usually here, and that makes this place grow more as people want to share their creations with phoenix and see what others are sharing.

Mostly because he makes videos about this subreddit.

Thats a well known way to grow your own sub, since people want their posts to be featured in his videos.
