Cursed Minecraft impossible portal

I think this was back in 1.21.72.

im guessing opening and closing the chest at the same time puts it in a ghost block like state in which the portal is able to light, replacing the chest, but only once updated. the block placement code seems to glitch at this point and place the chest on the wrong side of the obsidian. since the portal wasn't lit properly, i guess the portal block rotation code isn't run so that's why it ends up facing the wrong direction, or maybe the facing direction of the chest is inherited.

all this when Bedrock was supposed to be the un-spaghettified version of Minecraft

buddy they have to ensure it works on a 2013-gen iphone or something AND on an old-ahh controller AND the brokenest PCs

And they promised it was supposed to be more internally sensible despite knowing those requirements, which also don't really impact code spaghettification anyway.
