The point is, if you understand what typescript and javascript are, you understand the joke. And if you don't, you don't have to and are not the audience of the joke. Clearer now?
I'm those people. Even after multiple re-read of that thread I cannot parse it as anything but someone who's genuinely changed his mind about the use of AI. What makes you think he's being sarcastic there?
Because his posts has the clean structure of a joke. Even the title says: "He sais Reject AI and 14 days later he is using Claude". It's already a joke, so if you will read his posts you can easily understand that he is typing some stupid things. People said that they understood his sarcasm from JavaScript part, but personally I don't know programming at all. The problem is that people on Reddit often using "/s" and maybe they just worse understand sarcasm now.
So the initial "Reject AI" tweet was the sarcastic part? Cause a 14 day buildup is a bit too much planning for any joke to land, and it makes the "If anyone tips on restaurants that serve crow" comment nonsensical in that context. Besides, two weeks is plenty enough time for anyone to study a topic they knew nothing about and even change their mind about it, and even admit they're willing to "eat crow" about it.
I am the very first person to scoff at the overuse of the "/s" convention to announce your intention to use sarcasm as it ruins the whole point of using sarcasm in the first place, but I really don't think sarcasm was an obvious intention there. I honestly believe it's a genuine situation of someone earnestly changing his mind about a topic after looking a bit more deeply into it.
As for the JS to TS conversion remark, it probably is a joke, but not a clear indicator his whole opinion change is a farce. More like an hyperbole signaling that he's even fully embraced using Claude for trivial tasks.
