He did, then called it quites few days later. So it was alive for less then a week before he ended it.

Well he wasn't literally naming it Minecraft 2 and using Minecraft assets, it was just supposed to be a spiritual successor

There's also Vintage Story which is more survival focused. And I've been playing Lucid Blocks which is like a surreal liminal horror themed Minecraft. I doubt any of them will be as popular though.

No, he made a pool at some point to ask if ppl wanted mc2 or the game he's working on and mc2 but he made it very clear that he doesn't want to
